Disclaimer: I've learned some awesome things from the PK speakers.  However, Bill McCartney has a Catholic background and some of the PK administration embraces ecumenicalism.  This has made me give them a tentative endorsement.  Nonetheless, the notes I have taken align with the scriptures.

This year's Promise Keepers event was a great one!

We were blessed with Joe White, Tony Evans, Erwin McManus, Jack Hayford, Josh McDowell and Matthew Barnett. They brought us great things from God's Word. Plus, Ed Barron was the emcee and several other people like Randy Phillips made "cameo appearances".

Unlike last year, we sang several patriotic songs like God Bless America, Proud To Be An American, Glory, Glory, Hallelujah, etc.! Seeing and hearing 16,000 men singing and lifting their hands was something that I'll always remember.

God's Spirit was felt at PK 2001 in Anaheim, California (in the Anaheim "Pond"). I brought my pen and paper, so I could take notes. God taught me some great things and you can read them below! I wrote what I learned in the form of wise quotes and rhetorical questions. This is usually how God speaks to me in church and in conferences.

Let the eternal be internal.

Now is the time to set aside every single thing that is keeping us from fully surrendering to Christ.

Turn the tide.

The enemy wants to destroy the ground we stand on.

We must look to the one who can turn the tide.

If Jesus' resurrection didn't happen, Jesus' memory and teachings probably would have lasted a few weeks to a month.

Jesus said, "It is finished," not "I am finished".

Jesus is the centerpiece of civilization.

I can't get God out of my mind.

In Greek, "Tetelastai" means "paid in full".

I don't think it was ironic that Jesus died with His arms wide open.

Are you nailed to a certain sin in your life?

Adore God more!

All Christians are in a spiritual ware, but only some are actually fighting.

Insincere faith is no faith at all.

Do you feel the kind of security that faces death with confidence?

Repentance is the greatest word of freedom that was ever written.

True faith isn't a cheap acknowledgment of Jesus.

Belief is a full commitment to Christ.

Try praying on your knees.

Don't meander in the maze of mediocrity.

Righteous men need to expose their private faith.

Are you willing to be known as a Christian all day long?

Light has one responsibility: to shine.

In many countries, it's a crime to love Jesus.

The time is over for Christian CIA representatives.

Everybody else is coming out of the closet; it's time Christians do, too.

Does Jesus own you in public and private?

God is looking for people who will either practice Christianity or stop calling themselves Christians.

We have been praying that God would move from the back to the front seat.

God is no longer on the back page; He's on the front page.

A God-fearing nation turns to God in times of tragedy and need.

If evil men can do extreme terrorism in the name of their god, we can do extreme miracles in our God's name.

This isn't the time for casual Christianity or status quo spirituality.

Now is the time for God's saints to go public.

Unlike the terrorists, we won't walk in the shadows, but we will publicly show dedication to our God.

God wants us to dunk on His standards.

Many Christians have lowered the hoop and made God's standards conform to their standards.

We should be as salt and reject the contaminants that try and decay our spiritual health.

Some Christians are sinning worse than pagans.

It's not enough to simply be a good church-goer.

Jesus Christ is looking for radical Christians!

Are you in this for the crumbs or for the 5 course meal?

Can you discern between your attraction to godliness and your attraction to beauty?

When righteous people aren't in a city or country, it will be corrupt.

Don't let culture effect your spiritual life in a negative way.

You're either chained to your past, your habits or Christ.

Are you simply in church or in love with Jesus?

There are only two teams and Jesus wants you to be a player on His team.

I've read the end of the Book and I know whose team wins.

The information superhighway is filled with internet porn.

The porn industry has the pervert on their side, so they're seeking the curious.

An older person who has walked with God for many years and has many stories of faith is a treasure.

We need extreme power for living in extreme times.

There are six verbs that describe the acts of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament.

We aren't just called to faith; we're called to fullness.

Being filled with the Spirit once isn't the end of the Spirit's work.

The purpose of fullness is fruitfulness.

Faith in God leads to the fullness of God's attributes which leads to fruitfulness.

Don't miss God's purpose for you.

God brings insight to the moment.

Being busy with unworthy things can wear you down.

Make the most of every chance to do God's will.

We get stampeded by life too much and miss God's best too easily.

Don't be drunk with alcohol or any other sinful thing.

The river of life will overcome the darkness.

When the enemy comes in, like a flood, God raises up the standard of His blood!

I am on call to the Almighty.

Praise is becoming to the righteous.

I've never seen a worshiper of God lack a fundamental beauty.

God likes the way you sound.

Write and sing a new song!

Have you committed yourself to life as much as terrorists have committed themselves to death?

Even the animal world knows that they need the older to discipline the younger.

There's so much to know; so much to know.

There is history that God wants to write through you.

Tithe to your local church.

You tell me what's wrong, you tell me what's right; and you're always correct.

Don't wait until the storms in your life turn into hurricanes before you pray.

Have you connected with the living God?

Almost everyone prays, but they don't all pray to the same G/god.

Today, the world is full of praying people.

You'll hear God speak when you're ready to obey Him.

God is continually guiding all of His people.

The difference between praying Christians and other praying peoples is that Christians know and hear God's voice and obey Him.

The best evidence that you are a person of prayer is that you do what God says when He tells you.

God speaks to you on general and specific issues.

Honor the voice of God.

Don't compromise your God's attributes by letting your religion join another one that believes in a different god.

Don't pray a prayer and refuse to be the solution to the problem.

Don't be like people in every other religion where people pray, God doesn't speak to them and they don't do what God says.

Excellence isn't an act; it's a habit.

National and spiritual unity are very different things.

Don't compromise truth to embrace others.

Exercise the supreme privilege you have to access God.

If we don't respond to God when He speaks to us, our hearts become hardened.

Clinging to idols helps you forfeit the fullness of God's grace.

Today, we fight the same spiritual enemy that the prophets fought.

Only Christ's well is totally pure.

If we are going to be a loving people or mentors, we need an intimate, loving bond and connection.

Imposing God's laws without already having a relationship with your child, friend, student or protege can easily lead to rebellion.

There's no guarantee that your child will be godly, even if you're the greatest parent.

Serve Christ, serve your spouse and children and serve your church.

What kind of relationship do you have with your family?

Don't use quoting scripture as a buffer between you and others because you can't give them intimacy.

Be available to your loved ones.

Kids spell love "t i m e".

Children need their feelings affirmed.

Have you ever shared anyone's sorrow? joy?

Significance is the belief that you've said or done something worthwhile.

Biblical principles work.

Express appreciation when people are caught doing something right.

Be affectionate to your family.

Until you know you're loved unconditionally, you're not free to fail.

Approach your child's "world".

This last week, when could have you expressed appreciation to your wife or loved ones?

When could you have affirmed someone's feelings or emotions?

Your father may have never affirmed your emotions, but I bet you with he had.

He wants to revive you!

Worship and pride can't coincide.

Lifting your hands is the international sign for surrender.

Wave the white flag and let God have His way in your life.

Love them in and out the door.

Die to the craving to simply be successful and live to love God.

Seek the welfare of others.

Serving others is contagious.

In Heaven, while you live eternally, don't you want to have stories and memories of how you did God's work on Earth?
