Disclaimer: I've learned some awesome things from the PK speakers.  However, Bill McCartney has a Catholic background and some of the PK administration embraces ecumenicalism.  This has made me give them a tentative endorsement.  Nonetheless, the notes I have taken align with the scriptures.

The Promise Keepers convention in Los Angeles was awesome. We met on October 13 and 14 in the Great Western Forum in Inglewood, California. There were many incredible speakers, including Luis Palau, Jack Hayford, Miles McPhearson, Bill McCartney and Ed Cole.

I was really blessed at this conference. I recommend attending a future Promise Keepers event. They help the guys to be better guys, friends, husbands, fathers and leaders.

Here is a compilation of the quotes that I wrote during the conferences. Some of them were from the Holy Spirit and myself, others were directly from the speakers. God bless you!

There are lots of evil spirits on the freeways.

Is your daydreaming life pure?

You can't beat yourself up when you have occasional, intruding memories of sinful actions.

Your mother-in-law may remember all your sins, but God forgets them when you confess them.

Everyone needs to either get or stay by Jesus' side.

It is awesome how the Holy Spirit can be doing something different in everyone's life.

Love without truth is hypocrisy.

Part of accepting Jesus is becoming an active member of His body.

Truth without love is brutality.

The benefit of a strong, affirming bond with "Dad" is powerful.

A person who worships and praises God is one who can go the distance.

How many miles of spiritual ground do you cover each day?

If life is a chess game, the King of Kings has one more move.

Going the distance isn't about how much time you have, but about how you use your time.

Do you have accountability with anyone of the same sex?

You can never be blocked by the adversary because the king always has one more move.

Why do we sometimes think the ones trying to help us are trying to hurt us?

Would it be inappropriate to run to the prayer booth, hitting my head and saying, "Shut up, all of you, just shut up!"?

Rejoice if you can't remember your life without Christ.

Reading God's Word can help keep you from becoming a stale disciple.

Keep an encouraging letter from a friend nearby.

We exaggerate our weaknesses and forget God can help them.

Your love feeds my soul.

Keep moving along the path.

The humble are recognized and noticed more than I thought.

Love your Dad, even if you wish he'd be a little different. He may wish you'd be a little different.

Goliath was 9 feet tall. In the Bible, 9 was the number of judgment.

Forty was the number of testing in the Bible.

David told Saul he would kill Goliath when he still had sheep fuzz on his clothes.

David was 17 when he killed Goliath.

Jesus was 12 when he spoke in the temple.

Josiah was 8 when he (did something, sorry I missed it!).

Are other people hearing God?

No Dad is perfect and neither are you.

A father wouldn't intentionally mistreat his children unless that was all he knew.

If your father is too hard on you, praise God that he cares enough to try.

The best way to honor your father, if he has passed away, is to honor your Heavenly Father.

You can't even measure God's love for you!

Your Dad was working when you were playing.

Your Dad was by your side when nobody else was.

Some of us need to tell our Dad that we love Him.

Your Dad rules the house. You have no leverage.

Loving God isn't doing good things, it's doing the right things (being obedient).

Unless they are unbiblical, don't even think about disobeying your parents' rules.

Pray to overcome nervous habits.

Let's forget about being macho beasts and be godly men.

Be in expectation for the unexpected.

Pray for unrealistic things.

It's ok to make change in the offering plate, but it wasn't a really comfortable experience.

Singing loudly isn't necessarily a benchmark for how much one loves Jesus.

The gospel is the very best news that any human being hears.

The glory of God is a man fully alive in Christ.

Are you preparing for the next life?

We have to know precisely who we are in Christ.

The Christian life should not and cannot be lived in lonely isolation.

Without relationships that bring spiritual nurture, our lives with God will suffer.

The people who didn't tithe/give at the Promise Keeper's offering call were noticeably depressed when we sang the next worship song.

Hasn't your pastor been put there by God?

We need friends that will pray with us.

We bring who we really are into all the areas of our life.

If we don't utilize what the pastor is telling us, our spiritual lives will atrophy.

It is a daily process to learn to lean on Jesus and gradually leave our sinful ways behind.

Recognize godly people.

Pastors must lead.

Learn to deal with relational problems.

Do you remember what your pastor says?

Indecision is internal defeat.

I'm mourning for your sins.

Fasting is a divine corrective to the pride of the human heart.

People would love God more if they understood Him more.

Where are the churches where the leaders are set apart in a solemn season of prayer and fasting?

I've got 40 days for God to hear me more closely.

A fasting person is using a means that God has chosen to make his voice be heard on high.

God can turn the tide through your fasting.

Literally get on your knees before God.

I already mourned for them, I'll mourn for them again later.

It takes character to go the distance.

The only scripture you believe is the one you obey.

It's difficult to change, but it's impossible not to change.

It's hard to tell someone something they think they already know.

Choices reveal character, conduct and destiny.

Fatherlessness can be a result of immature fathers.

The blood of Christians is God's harvest seed.

To tolerate something is to allow it to exist.

Has you or your pastor been afraid to confront sin?

Don't tolerate sin.

The word "dysfunctional" has become a euphemism for sin.

We will be labeled intolerant when we hate what Jesus (God) hates.

You can be a man or a covenant man.

A successful band will take planning and prayer.

In human development, the heart is formed before the brain.

Give Jesus your heart, so He can give you a new heart and you can be born again.

If attending seminary was your relationship with Christ, you don't have a relationship with Christ.

I would never consider watering down or omitting these quotes to keep subscribers.

Christianity isn't a head religion, it's a heart relationship.

Your heart must be in your relationship with God if you want to go the distance.
