Chapter 4

And the angel that talked⁶ with me came again,⁴ and waked⁵⁵ me, as a man that is wakened¹¹ out of his sleep,

And said⁴ unto me, What seest⁶ thou? And I said,⁴ I have looked,¹ and behold a candlestick all [of] gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which [are] upon the top thereof:

And two olive trees by it, one upon the right [side] of the bowl, and the other upon the left [side] thereof.

So I answered⁴ and spake⁴ to the angel that talked⁶ with me, saying,² What [are] these, my lord?

Then the angel that talked⁶ with me answered⁴ and said⁴ unto me, Knowest¹ thou not what these be? And I said,⁴ No, my lord.

Then he answered⁴ and spake⁴ unto me, saying,² This [is] the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying,² Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith¹ the LORD of hosts.

Who [art] thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel [thou shalt become] a plain: and he shall bring forth⁵² the headstone ⁷²²² [thereof with] shoutings, [crying], Grace, grace unto it.

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,²

The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation¹⁴ of this house; his hands shall also finish¹⁷ it; and thou shalt know¹ that the LORD of hosts hath sent¹ me unto you.

For who hath despised¹ the day of small things? for they shall rejoice,¹ and shall see¹ the plummet ⁹¹³ in the hand of Zerubbabel [with] those seven; they [are] the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro³⁵ through the whole earth.

Then answered⁴ I, and said⁴ unto him, What [are] these two olive trees upon the right [side] of the candlestick and upon the left [side] thereof?

And I answered⁴ again, and said⁴ unto him, What [be these] two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty⁵⁶ the golden [oil] out of themselves?

And he answered⁴ me and said,² Knowest¹ thou not what these [be]? And I said,⁴ No, my lord.

Then said⁴ he, These [are] the two anointed ones, that stand⁶ by the Lord of the whole earth.
