Chapter 62

For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace,⁴ and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest,⁴ until the righteousness thereof go forth⁴ as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp [that] burneth.⁴

And the Gentiles shall see¹ thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called²⁷ by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.⁴

Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.

Thou shalt no more be termed¹¹ Forsaken;⁷ neither shall thy land any more be termed¹¹ Desolate: but thou shalt be called¹¹ Hephzibah, ²⁶⁵⁷ and thy land Beulah:⁷ for the LORD delighteth¹ in thee, and thy land shall be married.¹¹

For [as] a young man marrieth⁴ a virgin, [so] shall thy sons marry⁴ thee: and [as] the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, [so] shall thy God rejoice⁴ over thee.

I have set⁵² watchmen⁶ upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, [which] shall never ⁸⁵⁴⁸ hold their peace⁴ day nor night: ye that make mention⁵⁶ of the LORD, keep not silence,

And give⁴ him no rest, till he establish,³⁴ and till he make⁴ Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

The LORD hath sworn⁸ by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give⁴ thy corn [to be] meat for thine enemies;⁶ and the sons of the stranger shall not drink⁴ thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:¹

But they that have gathered¹⁸ it shall eat⁴ it, and praise¹⁴ the LORD; and they that have brought it together¹⁸ shall drink⁴ it in the courts of my holiness.

Go through,³ go through³ the gates; prepare¹⁶ ye the way of the people; cast up,³ cast up³ the highway; gather out¹⁶ the stones; lift up⁵⁴ a standard for the people.

Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed⁵² unto the end of the world, Say³ ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh;⁶ behold, his reward [is] with him, and his work before him.

And they shall call¹ them, The holy people, The redeemed⁷ of the LORD: and thou shalt be called,¹¹ Sought out,⁷ A city not forsaken.¹²
