Chapter 132

A Song of degrees.
LORD, remember³ David, [and] all his afflictions:²⁸

How he sware⁸ unto the LORD, [and] vowed¹ unto the mighty [God] of Jacob;

Surely I will not come⁴ into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up⁴ into my bed; ³³²⁶

I will not give⁴ sleep to mine eyes, [or] slumber to mine eyelids,

Until I find⁴ out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty [God] of Jacob.

Lo, we heard¹ of it at Ephratah: we found¹ it in the fields of the wood.

We will go⁴ into his tabernacles: we will worship¹⁰¹ at his footstool. ⁷²⁷²

Arise,³ O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.

Let thy priests be clothed⁴ with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.¹⁷

For thy servant David's sake turn not away⁵⁵ the face of thine anointed.

The LORD hath sworn⁸ [in] truth unto David; he will not turn⁴ from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set⁴ upon thy throne.

If thy children will keep⁴ my covenant and my testimony that ²⁰⁹⁷ I shall teach¹⁷ them, their children shall also sit⁴ upon thy throne for evermore.

For the LORD hath chosen¹ Zion; he hath desired¹⁴ [it] for his habitation.

This [is] my rest for ever: here will I dwell;⁴ for I have desired¹⁴ it.

I will abundantly¹⁵ bless¹⁷ her provision: I will satisfy⁵⁵ her poor with bread.

I will also clothe⁵⁵ her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout¹⁷ aloud for joy.¹⁵

There will I make the horn of David to bud:⁵⁵ I have ordained¹ a lamp for mine anointed.

His enemies⁶ will I clothe⁵⁵ with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.⁵⁵
