1 | A Song of degrees of David. |
2 | If [it had not been] the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up2 against us: |
3 | Then they had swallowed us up1 quick, when their wrath was kindled2 against us: |
4 | Then the waters had overwhelmed1 us, the stream had gone over1 our soul: |
5 | |
6 | Blessed7 [be] the LORD, who hath not given1 us [as] a prey to their teeth. |
7 | Our soul is escaped8 as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers:6 the snare is broken,8 and we are escaped.8 |
8 | Our help [is] in the name of the LORD, who made6 heaven and earth. |
