Chapter 77

To the chief Musician,¹⁸ to Jeduthun, A Psalm of Asaph.
I cried⁴ unto God with my voice, [even] unto God with my voice; and he gave ear⁵² unto me.

In the day of my trouble I sought¹ the Lord: my sore ran⁸ in the night, and ceased⁴ not: my soul refused¹⁴ to be comforted.⁹

I remembered⁴ God, and was troubled:⁴ I complained,⁴ and my spirit was overwhelmed.¹⁰¹ Selah.

Thou holdest¹ mine eyes waking: I am so troubled⁸ that I cannot speak.¹⁷

I have considered¹⁴ the days of old, the years of ancient times.

I call to remembrance⁴ my song in the night: I commune⁴ with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.¹⁷

Will the Lord cast off⁴ for ever? and will he be favourable² no more?⁵⁵

Is his mercy clean gone¹ for ever? doth [his] promise fail¹ for evermore? ¹⁷⁵⁵

Hath God forgotten¹ to be gracious?² hath he in anger shut up¹ his tender mercies? Selah.

And I said,⁴ This [is] my infirmity:¹⁵ [but I will remember] the years of the right hand of the most High.

I will remember^{4 2142 55} the works of the LORD: surely I will remember⁴ thy wonders of old.

I will meditate¹ also of all thy work, and talk⁴ of thy doings.

Thy way, O God, [is] in the sanctuary: who [is so] great a God as [our] God?

Thou [art] the God that doest⁶ wonders: thou hast declared⁵² thy strength among the people.

Thou hast with [thine] arm redeemed¹ thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

The waters saw¹ thee, O God, the waters saw¹ thee; they were afraid:⁴ the depths also were troubled.⁴

The clouds poured out¹⁹ water: the skies sent out¹ a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.¹⁰¹

The voice of thy thunder [was] in the heaven: the lightnings lightened⁵² the world: the earth trembled¹ and shook.⁴

Thy way [is] in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.⁸

Thou leddest¹ thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
