Chapter 34

[A Psalm] of David, when he changed¹⁵ his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away,¹⁷ and he departed.
⁴ I will bless¹⁷ the LORD at all times: his praise [shall] continually [be] in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast¹⁰¹ in the LORD: the humble shall hear⁴ [thereof], and be glad.⁴

O magnify¹⁶ the LORD with me, and let us exalt³⁴ his name together.

I sought¹ the LORD, and he heard¹ me, and delivered⁵² me from all my fears.

They looked⁵² unto him, and were lightened:¹ and their faces were not ashamed.⁴

This poor man cried,¹ and the LORD heard¹ [him], and saved⁵² him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the LORD encampeth⁶ round about them that fear him, and delivereth¹⁷ them.

O taste³ and see³ that the LORD [is] good: blessed [is] the man [that] trusteth⁴ in him.

O fear³ the LORD, ye his saints: for [there is] no want to them that fear him.

The young lions do lack,¹ and suffer hunger:¹ but they that seek⁶ the LORD shall not want⁴ any good [thing].

Come,³ ye children, hearken³ unto me: I will teach¹⁷ you the fear of the LORD.

What man [is he that] desireth life, [and] loveth⁶ [many] days, that he may see² good?

Keep³ thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking¹⁵ guile.

Depart³ from evil, and do³ good; seek¹⁶ peace, and pursue³ it.

The eyes of the LORD [are] upon the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their cry.

The face of the LORD [is] against them that do⁶ evil, to cut off⁵³ the remembrance of them from the earth.

[The righteous] cry,¹ and the LORD heareth,¹ and delivereth⁵² them out of all their troubles.

The LORD [is] nigh unto them that are of a broken¹² heart; and saveth⁵⁵ such as be of a contrite spirit.

Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth⁵⁵ him out of them all.

He keepeth⁶ all his bones: not one of them is broken.⁸

Evil shall slay³⁴ the wicked: and they that hate⁶ the righteous shall be desolate.⁴

The LORD redeemeth⁶ the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust⁶ in him shall be desolate.⁴
