Chapter 19

To the chief Musician,¹⁸ A Psalm of David.
The heavens declare¹⁸ the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth⁵⁶ his handywork. ³⁰²⁷

Day unto day uttereth⁵⁵ speech, and night unto night sheweth¹⁷ knowledge.

[There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard.⁸

Their line is gone out¹ through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set¹ a tabernacle for the sun,

Which [is] as a bridegroom coming out⁶ of his chamber, [and] rejoiceth⁴ as a strong man to run² a race.

His going forth [is] from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid¹² from the heat thereof.

The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting⁵⁶ the soul: the testimony of the LORD [is] sure,¹² making wise⁵⁶ the simple.

The statutes of the LORD [are] right, rejoicing¹⁸ the heart: the commandment of the LORD [is] pure, enlightening⁵⁶ the eyes.

The fear of the LORD [is] clean, enduring⁶ for ever: the judgments of the LORD [are] true [and] righteous¹ altogether.

More to be desired¹² [are they] than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. ⁶⁶⁸⁸

Moreover by them is thy servant warned:¹² [and] in keeping² of them [there is] great reward.

Who can understand⁴ [his] errors? cleanse¹⁶ thou me from secret¹² [faults].

Keep back³ thy servant also from presumptuous [sins]; let them not have dominion⁴ over me: then shall I be upright,⁴ and I shall be innocent⁸ from the great transgression.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.⁶
