Among his many writings are An Ecclesiastical Biography , containing the Lives of Ancient Fathers and Modern Divines (8 vols., 18451852), A Church Dictionary, The Means of Rendering more Effectual the Education of the People, The Cross of Christ (1873), The Church and its Ordinances (sermons, 4 vols., 1876), and Lives of the Archbishops of Canter-bury (12 vols., 186o1876). He died on the loth of October 1875.
