BOHMER, JOHANN FRIEDRICH (17951863) , German historian, son of Karl Ludwig Bohmer (d. 1817), was born at Frankfort-on-Main on the 22nd of April 1795. Educated at the universities of Heidelberg and Gottingen, he showed an interest
secretary of the Gesellschaft fur dltere deutsche Geschichtskunde. He was also archivist and then librarian of the city of Frankfort. Bohmer had a great
Protestant
critical sense was, perhaps, somewhat warped; but his researches are of great
work
series of Regesta imperii. For the period 13141347 (Frankfort, 1839) the Regesta was followed by three, and for the period 12461313 (Frankfort, 1844) by two supplementary volumes. The remaining period of the Regesta, as edited by Bohmer, is 11981254 (Stuttgart
