What is true friendship? A true friend is someone who loves you unconditionally and who has always and will always be there for you. Someone who forgives you every time you screw up and helps you to see the world in the right perspective. Someone who actually loves to listen to you talk! Someone who knows every detail of your life, but loves you anyway. Someone who wants to know your deepest hopes and fears. Someone who completes you and somehow the more you get to know them, the more you understand yourself.

There are lots of people walking around with each of these characteristics, right? (PAUSE) Oh, come on, you must know someone who has all of these attributes. Not even one? Exactly. None of us can name a person like this, because they don't exist . We are all human. That's the problem. The solution is God. He is the only one who we can have this friendship with. He loves us unconditionally and knows each of our deepest, darkest secrets and our most horrible acts. He was there when we did them and all He wants to do is forgive us. All you have to do, to receive this incredible gift of friendship, is ask.

True friendship demands total honesty. Being honest with God can be scary, because it means that you have to be honest with yourself. What is in your heart at this moment that is keeping you from accepting this never ending friendship?
