Hello!

I hope you had a fantastic week and weekend.

We have a number of free Bibles and New Testaments.  Most of them are paperback.  If you need a Bible or a New Testament, please reply to this email with your address and your request.  We'd be happy to send you the Bible.

The Fayetteville Freethinkers have posed a challenge.  They are a group of unbelievers who do not think Christians can prove any biblical prophecy fulfillment!  In fact, they will even pay $100 if someone can prove one.  Please click here if you wish to read their challenge.  I've debated a couple of these guys and I'm looking forward to seeing them lose a few hundred bucks!

The Christian Law Center has dispelled many of the myths surrounding Christmas, regarding what you can do in public schools and such.  I found it so interesting that I typed it and put a copy on JCSM!  Please click here and I'll know you'll be surprised about the religious freedoms we still have!

On Tuesday, Phil Wickham is releasing a new album.  His first album, which was an independent release around Southern California was excellent and I've heard two songs from his new album and it should be excellent, too.  Click here if you'd like to hear some sample songs from Phil's MySpace site.

Welcome to the new readers of this message!  Here is your Devotion, A Moment of Introspection, JCSM's Challenge, the Word of the Week, a faith-builder from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained," and the Quotes of the Week.  Have a fantastic week and God bless you!

Love in Christ,

"See Through God's Eyes"

Matthew 6:33  "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

Romans 12:2  "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

1 Corinthians 2:16  "For 'who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?'  But we have the mind of Christ."

1 Thessalonians 5:21  "Test all things; hold fast what is good."

James 1:5  "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

Insight: In order to see through God's eyes, we need to seek and find His mind.  Read the Word and discover God's will.  Follow the Holy Spirit and discern right and wrong.  Hold everything up to the litmus test of Scripture and see if it passes or fails.

Prayer: "Dear Lord, show us the world through your eyes.  Help us discern right and wrong.  Give us spiritual wisdom and insight.  Increase our wisdom, Lord.  We want to be like You and we don't want to do wrong.  Lift us up and show us your perfect will.  Thank you for giving us your awesome Word.  Help us to read it, remember it, and apply it.  In Jesus' name, Amen."

America's Foundation

Constitution of the State of New Jersey 1844, reads:

"We, the people of the State of New Jersey, grateful to Almighty God for the civil and religious liberty which He hath so long permitted us to enjoy, and looking to Him for a blessing upon our endeavors to secure and transmit the same unimpaired to succeeding generations, do ordain and establish this Constitution." ¹

A Moment of Introspection

If you never quoted another verse of the Bible, if you never expressed your affiliation with God again would people know you are Christ's disciple based only on how you show your love for others?

JCSM's Challenge

Stop everything and ask God to speak to you.  Clear your heart and mind and be prepared for His instruction.  He won't be silent.  Now, do what He just told you to do.

God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!

Word of the Week

dokimadzo (Greek, see 1 Thessalonians 5:21): to test (literally or figuratively), by implication to approve: allow, discern, examine

The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained

"The Skeptic's Annotated Bible" claims:

Exodus 2:18 - Who was Moses' father-in-law?

"The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained" responds:

* Reuel, Jethro, and Hobab are the same person.  Moses called him by different names, though.

* When Moses escaped from Pharaoh, Reuel gave him a home.  He also helped Moses grow and mature for 40 years.  Reul means "friend of God."

* Moses cared for his sheep and they multiplied.  This is why we see his father-in-law called "Jethro," next.  "Jethro" means "abundance."

* After some time, Moses really enjoys his new family and desires his father-in-law's presence.  Therefore, he is called "Hobab."  "Hobab" means "cherished."

(This explanation came from "The Skeptic's Annotated Bible: Corrected and Explained".  This book is on CD and gives over 4,000 answers to alleged Bible errors, regarding the entire Bible at http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.org.  There is also a 300 question workbook that accompanies the CD-ROM.)
