Monday "Who's Behind the Wheel?"

Hebrews 1:8 "But to the Son He says: Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom."

Acts 10:36 ""The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ; He is Lord of all;"

James 4:7-8a "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."

Prayer: "Thank you for being Lord of all--and not merely applying for the job! Bless us and help us to realize your power and sovereignty. Give us more faithfulness to You. Thank you for being so worthy of our time and devotion! There's no other God like You! Help us to submit to You because You know more than we do and You love us more than we love ourselves. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Tuesday "Pursue Peace"

Hebrews 12:14 "Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:"

1 Peter 3:11 "Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it."

Psalm 34:14 "Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it."

Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God."

Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Prayer: "Thank you for all of the peace that is in the world right now--it's from You. Give us more peace. Change the heart of the violent aggressors. Help us to always seek peaceful solutions. Praise You for being the Prince of Peace! Let us be more like You! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Wednesday "Go Out on a Limb--That's Where the Fruit Is!"

Matthew 25:20-21 "So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.' His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord."

Luke 9:60, 62 "Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God. No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

Galatians 5:22, 23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."

John 14:12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father."

Prayer: "Helps us to risk it all for You! Give us great courage! Take away all of our fear and anxiety. Prod us and give us power! Thank you for wanting us to do our best and wanting us to do great things. Remind us that You are all-powerful and You are our good God. Don't let us get lukewarm or selfish. Helps us to put You first! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Thursday "There's Rest in the Jungle"

Psalms 23:2-3 "He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake."

Isaiah 40:31 "But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."

Matthew 11:29-30 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

Prayer: "Thank you for giving us rest! Remind us to call to You when we need peace! You always answer our prayers; always! Thank you for being the King of the Jungle, even when things seem crazy and out of control. Keep giving me the wisdom to relax and seek rest in You. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Friday "God is Awesome!"

Psalm 66:5 "Come and see the works of God; He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men."

Psalm 18:30 "As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him."

Revelation 16:7 "And I heard another from the altar saying, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments."

Proverb 9:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

Prayer: "There's no other God like You! You have done so many awesome things, all over the world and universe! You are the perfect, almighty, righteous, Holy God! Thank you for listening to us and giving us Your Word and fellowship! It is an honor to be a Christian! It is an honor to be Heaven-bound! Give us great faithfulness during this brief pilgrimage on earth! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Challenge:

Forward this devotional message to someone! They can be a congressman, friend, church leader, struggling believer, an unbeliever, etc. It will only take about 10 seconds of your time to forward these devotions. They can encourage a person or even lead them to Christ for the first time! The internet is an enormous tool for evangelism! Share the good news! You'll be rewarded and possibly surprised at what God can do!

Did You Know That Fact. . . .

There are only a few species today that we can observe in real time, that seem to benefit from mutations. Viruses and bacteria are examples. But these creatures have populations in the quadrillions (one quadrillion is 1,000,000,000,000,000 in case you're wondering). According to theoretical calculations that were reached in the 1960s, the greater a population size, the greater possibility it could survive mutational advancement. The reason is that far more of the mutations in a species are harmful than favorable. A population would have to be large enough to withstand the trials of destructive mutations until successful ones were reached, and clearly we don't see those kinds of populations in the vast majority of animal species.

Darwin saw nature as a continuous evolutionary process following the principles of natural selection. If the theory of evolution is correct, then shouldn't we see evidence of new species evolving today? In fact, we should see new species constantly appearing at a rate greater than extinction. But we don't.
