Monday "God's Love"

Romans 8:38-39 "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

1 John 4:7 "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God."

Ephesians 2:4-5 "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved."

Prayer: "Thank you for loving us and saving us from hell, Lord. Your love and mercy is why we live. Thank you for your perfect Word and the fact that nothing can separate us from your awesome love. Give us more love for You and others. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Tuesday "Keep Seeking Wisdom"

Ecclesiastes 8:1 "Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed."

James 3:17 "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy."

Proverb 21:11 "When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom; when a wise man is instructed, he gets knowledge."

Prover 22:17, 18 "Pay attention and listen to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I teach, for it is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips."

Prayer: "Give us wisdom, Lord. Help us to value You, the wisdom that You have and give. Forgive us for being foolish. Give us self-control and make us unafraid to ask You for things. Remind us that You are a good God with good plans for us; not an evil one who wants us to go to hell or live life without You. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Wednesday "Forgive Others"

Luke 17:3, 4 "So watch yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' forgive him."

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Psalm 103:12 "As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

Ephesians 4:26 "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath."

Prayer: "Thank you for forgiving us, Jesus. Remind us to forgive others as quickly as possible because forgiveness equals freedom. Don't let us hold a grudge and have precious time and energy stolen from our lives. Thank you for being the perfect model of perfect forgiveness. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Thursday "We Are the Overcomers"

Luke 10:19, 20 "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

1 Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."

John 16:33 ""I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Prayer: "Thank you for giving us the power to overcome temptation. Praise the Lord! You have saved us from committing many sins. Remind us to ask for your strength. And give us the knowledge and wisdom to know what is good and what is evil. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Friday "Remember What God Has Done"

1 Chronicles 16:12 and Psalm 105:5 "Remember his marvelous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth."

Ecclesiastes 12:1 "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them."

Isaiah 46:9 "Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me."

Luke 8:39 "Return to thine own house, and show how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him."

Prayer: "Praise the Lord! You have done awesome things in my life and in the lives of many people. Help us to remember the things that you've done and celebrate. Make us unashamed of You and the power that You have used to make changes in our lives. To You be all of the glory, honor and praise, forever and ever. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Challenge:

Pray continuously for 30 minutes this week. Jesus Christ went away from people and prayed (talked and listened to God) several times, and He is God! It is important for us to spend time with God in prayer. If you

need ideas on what to pray about, see the paper on my web page called Prayer. You will be blessed and your life will be made easier as you bring your burdens, needs and thoughts to God in prayer. If you have unconfessed sin, you should try something. A couple of times I have written down all of the sins I have committed, but not confessed, on paper. Then I asked for forgiveness and threw the paper away. I felt much, much better. You could burn the paper. But don't start a big fire!

Did You Know That...

A classic criticism of God's creation of Adam and Eve is this: If Adam and Eve had only two sons, Cain and Abel (who was later killed by Cain), how could Cain get married? Genesis 5:4 says that in Adam's 930 years of life, he sired sons and daughters. Obviously Cain could have married a daughter or a niece.

It has been argued by some that because Cain must have married his own sister, he must have therefore committed incest, which the Bible condemns. And incest results in genetic defects, as is well known today. First, the law against incest was not recorded by Moses (Leviticus 18) until hundreds of years after the life of Cain. Secondly, there were no genetic defects in the early days of the human race. Adam was created perfectly by God.
