This is the Weekly Devotional Message from
Jesus Christ Saves Ministries
Devotions for March 15th through 19th
Monday "Let's Not Get Drunk"
Proverb 23:21 "For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, And drowsiness will clothe a man with rags."
Ephesians 5:18-21 "And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God."
Prayer: "Help us not to drink to much or abstain from drinking altogether. Thank you for your wise examples and statements in the Bible! Help us to be less dependent on our own wisdom and let us submit to You and be patient. Give us strength to overcome evil with the truth. Bless us and send encouragers to us. Help us to build up people with our words and deeds. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Tuesday "The Road to Heaven Goes Through Jesus"
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Prayer: "Thank you for three verses about salvation through Jesus Christ, your Son! Let everyone who reads this devotion make sure they have accepted You as their personal Lord and Savior! Thank you for the chance to encourage so many with the truth of your Word! Bless us and give us joy and patience. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Wednesday "Remember Your Family!"
Proverb 19:26 "He who mistreats his father and chases away his mother Is a son who causes shame and brings reproach."
Proverb 23:22 "Listen to your father who begot you, And do not despise your mother when she is old."
Acts 16:32, 33 "Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized."
Ephesians 6:2 "Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise."
Prayer: "Thank you for giving us life, Lord. Bless us and especially those without families. Help us to pray for our families and love them as we should. Thank you for how they've loved us over the years. Thank you for the things You teach us through our family. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Thursday "Do Something for Jesus!"
James 2:17 "Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
Proverb 11:30 "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise."
(Go out on a limb, that's where the fruit is!)
Prayer: "Thank you for wanting us to grow spiritually and bear fruit. Help us to know what to do. Also help us to put your plans into action and not sit on our hands forever. Praise You for your faithfulness in all situations! Give us more confidence and faithfulness to You, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Friday "To God Be the Glory!"
1 Corinthians 10:31 "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
Revelation 14:6-7 "Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth; to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people; saying with a loud voice, Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water."
Prayer: "Thank you for being an awesome God and worthy of our praise! Remind us to continuously thank You and praise You throughout the day. Thank you for being eternal and giving us eternal life with You! To You be all the glory, honor and praise, forever and ever. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Challenge:
Clean the house! Things are continuously getting dirty (dishes, carpet, laundry, etc.). On occasion I have cleaned up things that I didn't even make dirty. Recently a friend of mine washed my dishes and I remembered how amazing it is to do random acts of love with all of your heart! So this week's challenge is to clean up your place or someone else's! God will reward you in Heaven for your good deeds; plus, you will feel good about helping and loving!
