This is the October Message from
Jesus Christ Saves Ministries
I've collected hundreds of quotes from pastors, books, tv, music, etc. Here are some quotes that I thought were interesting.
1) You may not know what the future holds, but you do know who holds the future.
2) You can't have the rainbow without the rain.
3) Just because you're having a special experience, don't assume someone else is. Me
4) Although love will benefit us, it must be motivated by more than self-interest. The ultimate expression of love is self-sacrifice. Campus Crusade for Christ
5) The cure of selfishness is servanthood, which is being like Christ. Selfish ambitions destroy church unity by pitting one Christian against another. Philippians 2:2-5
6) A man is made of what he thinks in his heart of hearts. What he denies, what he allows is the crucial part. Joel Weldon
7) What you choose to fill your mind with will affect the way you think and act. The pure of heart learn to see good even in the midst of evil. But evil people learn to see evil even in the midst of good. Titus 1:15
8) Study the Bible to be wise; believe it to be safe; practice it to be Holy. Psalm 119:97,98
9) Only after surrendering to Jesus can you experience the results of His blessing. Me
Chuck Swindoll is the president of Dallas Theological Seminary. He is the pastor of a church and has a radio ministry as well. I've heard him preach, met him and read some of his books; he's an excellent preacher and author. The following quote was on a wall at work. It's from Chuck Swindoll and it's called "Attitude."
Attitude
"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than the facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, gifted-ness or skills. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and this is our attitude...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes."
I heard this song and it made me think. All of life is learning. Sometimes things seem terrible and it can appear that nothing good is going to come from a situation. However, there's always something to be learned. There's always room to grow and increase our understanding. This song is called, "You Learn."
