Devotions for July 14th through July 18th
Monday: "Shout for Joy"
Psalm 20:5 "We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests."
Psalm 35:27 "May those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, 'The Lord be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant'."
Matthew 11:9 "Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"
Prayer: "Thank you for our voices, Lord. Remind us to shout for joy. Thank you for blessing us so much. Bless us more and give us wisdom and great love for You and others. To You be all of the glory, honor, and praise. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Tuesday "God is Changeless and Eternal"
Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
2 Peter 3:18 "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen."
Jude 1:25 "To the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen."
Psalm 119:89-90 "Your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures."
Prayer: "Thank you for being such an awesome God. Praise You for your changelessness and eternalness. There is none other like You in all of the universe. You are my everything. Remind us to praise you for your incredible character, Jesus. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Wednesday: "Don't Worry"
Colossians 3:2 "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
Prayer: "Thank you for not wanting us to worry. Make us turn our worries into prayers. Thank you for answering our prayers and always being here for us. Praise You for your faithfulness and incredible promises. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Thursday: "Joy and Happiness"
Psalm 119:2 "Happy are those who keep his decrees, who seek him with their whole heart."
Psalm 16:8-9 "I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure."
Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"
James 1:2-3 "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance."
Prayer: "Give us joy, Lord. Thank you for our trials and temptations. Thank you for giving us the power to overcome temptation or escape it every single time. Take away our worries, fears, and regrets. Give us joy that the world cannot give and joy that the world cannot take away. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Friday "Spread the Gospel"2 Timothy 1:7 "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner."
Romans 1:16 "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile."
Acts 4:29 "Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness."
Matthew 5:13-14 "You are the salt of the earth....You are the light of the world...."
Prayer: "Give us boldness, Lord. Thanks for the power that you give us. Take away our insecurities and make us witness to this lost and dying world. Thank you for our salvation and changed lives. Make us a light in the darkness. Give us wisdom to prepare and share the good news in the ways that are most appropriate for us. In Jesus' name, Amen."
