This is the Weekly Devotional Message from
Jesus Christ Saves Ministries
Monday "Sing a New Song"
Psalm 33:3 "Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy."
Psalm 96:1 "Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth."
Psalm 149:1 "Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints."
Isaiah 42:10 "Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them."
Prayer: "Thank you for letting us sing worship songs to You, Lord. Thanks for all of the familiar songs that we like. Remind us to sing new ones, too. Thank you for Your perfect Word, which directs and protects us. Praise You for your love for us. Make us more like You, Father. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Tuesday "Persecution Will Come and Go"
Matthew 5:11, 12 "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
Romans 8:35 "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?"
Daniel 3:17, 18 "If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up."
Revelation 2:10 "Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life."
Prayer: "Thank you for our persecutions, Jesus. They must mean that we are doing something right and the evil world feels threatened. Make us very strong. Give us boldness and kindness. Thank you for being faithful to us, always. Remind us that we are being tested and you will give us what we need to get through it. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Wednesday "Hell is Real"
Mark 8:43 "If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out."
Luke 16:23, 24 "In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire'."
Mark 9:48 "....where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched."
Revelation 20:14, 15 "Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."
Prayer: "Thank you for our salvation, Lord. Give us a love for the lost, who are hellbound. We know that this earth is the closest thing we will see to hell, but it is the closest thing the lost will see to Heaven. Give us ideas to witness and spread the gospel (bumper stickers, tracts, internet, checks, letters, sky writing, T-Shirts, screen names, etc.). Have mercy and forgive us for being silent or quiet about You. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Thursday "Eternal Rewards"
2 Chronicles 15:7 "But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded."
Psalm 37:18 "Day by day, God sees the good deeds done by Godly men and gives them eternal rewards."
Jeremiah 17:10 "I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve."
Matthew 6:20 "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."
Prayer: "Thank you for rewarding us on earth and in Heaven, Lord, for the deeds that we do. Give us a genuine love for you and others, so we can do good deeds with a pure heart. Give us endurance, so we can run this race to win. Let us value eternal riches more than earthly riches. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Friday "Obey the Law"
Romans 2:13 "For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous."
Romans 13:1 "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."
Prayer: "Thank you for your laws, Lord. Like a good father, you love us enough to give us rules. Give us wisdom, to obey and succeed. Give us strength and self-control, to put aside our worldly desires and follow You. Thanks for loving us so much. In Jesus' name, Amen."
