Noah’s Prophecy

At first glance, Noah’s prophecy may seem ordinary (if any prophecy could seem ordinary). However, to the one who wishes to analyze it deeply, Noah’s words prophesied the direction of the entire world through his three sons. Since his sons repopulated the entire planet, we can see how Noah’s prophecy was far-reaching and quite supernatural.

The curse on Canaan was revealed when they became servants of the Israelites. This has been proven by the Old Testament scriptures (Judges 1:28). This was revealed in the time of Joshua, too (Joshua 9:27).

Shem was blessed and this is evidenced by Jesus Christ coming from him! This is recorded in Luke 3:36. The very name "Shem" has likely stayed with the Jews, even today, as they are called "Semites" (which is extremely similar to "Shemites").

Japheth was indeed enlarged. The European powers, which extend past ancient Rome and Greece, even to the West, were from Japheth. For one to simply say "Japheth was enlarged" is somewhat of an understatement in light of the enormous expansion of this man’s descendants.

The large, Gentile nations can be traced to Japheth. Jesus Christ can be traced to Shem. Therefore, after salvation came through the Jews and to the Gentiles ("to the Jew and also to the Greek"), we see Japheth’s descendants "dwelling in the house of Shem". The course of the wonderful offering of salvation was prophesied by Noah!
