36 Reasons For My Fast

1) To do what I feel God is telling me to do

2) To obey God's command, in the Bible, to fast

3) To do something Jesus did

4) To experience closeness with God that doesn't end at the end of the day (like a one day fast)

5) To pray for myself, others, this country, etc.

6) To experience the Miles Ahead Crusade, the Harvest Crusade and Spirit West Coast while fasting

7) To seek God and find new and better ways for ministry

8) To write some research papers on biblical topics

9) To gain self-control

10) To see God glorified through His strength in me during my weakened condition

11) To experience closeness to God in my worship, Bible studies, Christian fellowship, church services, etc.

12) To let God mold me into the person He wants me to be

13) To do something awesome and exciting while we're still on Earth

14) To pray for my future

15) To see where my spiritual battles lie

16) To get great spiritual strength and insight

17) To feel God's presence in my daily routine and in times of deliberate conversation and worship

18) To experience 30 minutes of prayer, 30 minutes of Bible reading and 30 minutes of worship, each day, while doing an extended fast

19) To pray for enormous things and see God's hand move

20) To thank God for all He has done, all He is doing and all He will do

21) To receive greater insight from God's Word

22) To pray about the end times and understand them better

23) To pray for the unsaved people and see them accept Christ as Lord and Savior

24) To walk in God's Spirit, everywhere I go, and pray and see the awesome things that happen

25) To condition my body and remind the flesh that God is in control

26) To cultivate closeness with my wife and pray for our relationship and future

27) To thank God for all of my blessings and pray for the things we need

28) To realize we don't need too much, but we need to have godliness with contentment

29) To experience teaching two soccer camps while fasting

30) To enjoy lots of Christian concerts and Christian music while fasting

31) To have my 40 day fast culminate at Spirit West Coast, with DC Talk's concert (among others)

32) To let God direct my footsteps and see what awesome things He does when I let go and let God

33) To be a light to other believers and even unbelievers

34) To pray for Christian leaders and ministers

35) To have vision for my internet ministry (new web pages, consistency, to see God's power working through others, for the ministry to increase, etc.)

36) To pray for The Rock Church and their new building situation
