This is the Weekly Devotional Message from
Jesus Christ Saves Ministries
http://www.JCSM.org
Over 2000 Links!
Hello!
Welcome to our devotional message! We hope you are having a super Monday (even if you didn't get the day off work)!
We've uploaded some new pictures from our trip to Israel. Now, there are over 400 pictures on the web! Like we said last week, we'll send you a cd with 500 pictures from Israel with any donation you make to JCSM in January. If you simply want to look at the pictures on the web, please go here: http://www.jcsm.org/Israel2001/IsraelPicturesList.htm.
This week, I read a book by Lester Sumrall. "Demons: The Answer Book" was quite interesting and revealing. I recommend it, but I didn't agree with his brief assertion that Christians could be possessed by a demon. Nonetheless, his book provided a lot of great insights.
We made a new web page for you. Would you like to know 26 names for Satan? This was an interesting find. We created the page called, "Names For Satan and Demon Spirits" and you can find it here: http://www.jcsm.org/biblelessons/SatansNames.htm.
I hope you have a great Monday! Some of us are celebrating Martin Luther King Day. Praise God that Dr. King stood against racism. The United States (and the world) is a much better place, now. Here is our page dedicated to the fight against racism: http://www.jcsm.org/biblelessons/Anti-Racism.htm.
After hearing Mike Macintosh's sermon at Horizon, on January 12th, I decided to visit an organization that he mentioned. The Temple Institute is an organization in Israel that has prepared all the elements for the next and final temple! They are ready to implement them as soon as the temple is built. For more information about them and to sign their petition for building the temple, please go here: http://www.templeinstitute.org/current-events/temple-mount-preservation-act-petition.html.
Did you know that Napster was back? Well, they've started their "beta testing" phase and you can download their free, beta version here: http://account.napster.com/register. When they start their pay service, you will be given one free month, if you are a beta tester. They don't have many files online, but I downloaded a Delirious cover, today, and it was quaint.
Please pray for my school and my students. I love them and want to see them continue growing in the Lord. It's a privilege to teach them. Also, please pray that God protects them and helps them pass all their classes.
Have you ever heard of "Rock For Life"? This organization is currently peacefully protesting abortion. Their web site has an exhaustive list of bands that support abortions and bands that do not. Please check them out and pray for their cause. Here is their link: http://www.rockforlife.org.
God bless you as you walk with Him! Fight the good fight! Run the race to win! Hallelujah!
On January 25th, there will be an awesome worship service at Horizon Christian Fellowship in San Diego. From 7pm until midnight, we will be worshiping the Lord! My wife and I should be there from 7:30-9pm or so. Please come and be blessed! Here is their web site: www.horizonsd.org.
Would you like to donate a free mammogram to a woman in need? Over 43,000 women will die this year and these deaths could be prevented with a mammorgram. All you have to do is click the link on the following site and you will donate a "free mammogram": http://www.thebreastcancersite.com.
Are you receiving about twelve pages with this message? If this message is truncated, and perhaps you're only receiving half of it, you can always find these devotions on our web site! Simply go here: http://devos.jcsm.org. Plus, if www.jcsm.org isn't working, please try www.jcsm.net.
This is your ministry, so please feel free to link to JCSM and forward these devotions to your friends and family. On the JCSM website, there are over 2000 links (pictures, midis, Bible lessons, humor, proverbial stories, links, devotions, poetry, prayer journals and much more!) and it has registered over 62,000 hits!
Would you like to support God's work on the web? If this ministry has touched you in a special way, please pray and consider sending a gift to JCSM. You can join us in our vision to reach people on the web with the good news! Please email me or see our address below.
Welcome to the new recipients of this message! Here are the devotions, challenge, the Bible word of the week and the quotations for the week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you!
Love in Christ,

The Weekly Devotional Message
Day 1: "Dominion With Jesus"
John 14:12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father."
Mark 16:17, 18 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
Romans 6:14 "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace."
Psalm 119:133 "Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me."
Matthew 16:19b "Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Luke 10:19 "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
Jude 1:25 "To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen."
Prayer: "Thank you for giving us dominion with You, Lord! Praise You for working through us and in us. Remind us that You have given us power to do miracles in Jesus' name. Remind us that You want us to do awesome things and bring You glory. Help us to use our gifts to edify others and glorify You. Forgive us for putting You in a box and doubting your awesome power. Even if we've never seen a miracle, help us to have faith that You still do them and can do miracles through your servants. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 2: "The Whole Heart"
Psalm 119:2 "Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart!"
Jeremiah 29:13 "And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
Colossians 3:23, 24 "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."
Prayer: "Thank you for wanting me to love You and obey You with my whole heart. Thank you for being like an awesome coach; not wanting us to play halfheartedly. Remind us of the dangers of following You halfheartedly. Forgive us for being divided. Help us to remember how much You satisfy us and how only You can fill us like we need to be filled. Praise You for being so awesome! Thank you for being so worthy of our devotion and praise. Change our hearts and cleanse us. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 3: "Not Ashamed"
Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek."
Psalm 25:1, 2 "To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me."
2 Timothy 1:8, 9 "Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began."
Mark 8:38 "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."
Prayer: "Praise You for being so awesome that we do not need to be ashamed of You or our faith in You! Thank you for leading an exemplary life and giving us pure commandments. Remove our fear. Give us great courage and boldness. Thank you for having patience and mercy on your servants when they are either ashamed or afraid. Lift us up. Make us strong and sure. Help us to be saints that witness to the world about You and your gift of salvation. Remind us of the reality of Hell. Praise You for giving us your Word and molding us into the people You want us to be. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 4: "Absorb God's Word"
Psalm 119:9-16 "How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. Blessed are You, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes. With my lips I have declared All the judgments of Your mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches. I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word."
Joshua 1:8 "Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth. But mediate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."
Proverbs 7:1-3 "My son, keep my words, And treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, And my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart."
Prayer: "Help us to read and memorize your Word, Lord. Thank you for giving us a supernatural, living book! Cause us to love your words more than anything else. Thank you for speaking to us so clearly in the Bible. Thank you for letting me have several Bibles and even the original Greek and Hebrew manuscripts! Increase our Bible knowledge. Remind us that we need to adore You and what You have said. Let us remember what we read. Help us to make an effort to read your Word and memorize it. Give us discipline. Thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit. Teach us and convict us. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 5: "Stewardship"
Micah 3:8-10 "Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, 'In what way have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this, Says the LORD of hosts, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it."
Matthew 6:19-21 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Luke 21:1-4 "And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had."
Prayer: "Thank you for wanting our sincere dedication to You. Help us to understand how we need to tithe to our churches and give to others. Thank you for having an awesome plan for us. Thank you for operating perfectly fine, even when we rebel from your ideal plan. Praise You for not needing us to accomplish your will. Help us to do your will and be righteous. Forgive us for being poor examples of You. Forgive us for only obeying a part of your Word. Thank you for giving us second, third, fourth and fifth chances. Let us be disciplined in our giving and have a lifestyle of giving! Thank you for the wonder of helping others and seeing your awesome blessings. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 6: "Don't Repay Evil With Evil"
Luke 6:35, 36 "But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful."
Romans 12:17 "Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men."
Matthew 5:39-42 "But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.
Prayer: "Thank you for showing us how to act. Give us more self-control. Thank you for being meek and wanting us to be the same way. Help us to control our anger. Let us see how your perfection is exemplified when we are godly in dire circumstances. Remind us how to behave, even when we are offended or hurt. Help us to forgive deeply, quickly and often. Thank you for the supernatural experience that comes when we forgive people who do not deserve forgiveness! Let us be like You, Lord. Thank you for giving us such great and continual forgiveness. Thank you for erasing our sins and loving us unconditionally. Help us to love like You do. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 7: "The Triumphal Entry"
Daniel 9:24, 25 "Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy. Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times."
Luke 19:28-44 "When He had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. And it came to pass, when He drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples, saying, Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. And if anyone asks you, Why are you loosing it? thus you shall say to him, Because the Lord has need of it. So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them. But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, Why are you loosing the colt? And they said, The Lord has need of him. Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him. And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road. Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest! And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples. But He answered and said to them, I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out. Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation."
Zechariah 9:9 "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey."
(For more on this fulfillment of prophecy, please see: http://daniel925.jcsm.org.
Prayer: "Dear Lord, thanks for fulfilling prophecy and authenticating Jesus with His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday! Praise You for telling the world that this would happen in this matter and at this time. Praise You for telling the world this would happen over four hundred years before it did! Thank you for giving us the only prophetic book in the universe. Praise You for being God and the one who knows the future. Let us trust in You and not go to sorcerers or palm readers to know what will happen in the future. Reveal their lies and treachery before the judgment. Keep your people from the evil people in this world. Help the saints to walk in the light. Thank you for putting your right hand on the ones who do your will. Lift us up and empower us! Show us how awesome You are because Jesus Christ fulfilled the Messianic prophecies, died and rose from the grave! To You be all the glory, honor and praise, forever and ever! In Jesus' name, Amen."
Challenge
Memorize a chapter of the Bible! If that's too easy for you, memorize a book of the Bible!
God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!
The Bible Word of the Week
Caiaphas: the high priest in Jesus' time, literally meaning a "dell" or hidden place
The Quotations of the Week
God wants us to let go so He can bless us more.
One day you will die and all of your earthly wants and desires will mean nothing.
We didn't negotiate for Jesus to come to Earth and die for our sins. He "gave" His life for us.
Giving makes you more like God.
Giving brings honor from God.
Don't give to get honor from people. However, getting honor from people is sometimes a byproduct of giving.
Giving proves that you have God's love in you.
Giving keeps our focus on eternal things.
Don't give, witness, read your Bible or pray without expecting benefits.
Be convinced that giving and tithing is investing in God's kingdom.
God loves to give us things, so sometimes when we ask Him for small things, it is like asking Him for a nickel.
Give because God said to give and be happy about it.
Giving brings joy.
Are you tipping God (giving less than 10%) or tithing to Him (giving 10% or more)?
Giving brings financial blessing.
Live by faith and don't get hung up on owning everything
If you live by faith, God will give you things to enjoy that you will never own.
Are you having victory over materialism?
Giving protects against financial enslavement.
A checkbook is a theological document. It indicates who and what we worship.
Don't be an evangelist or missionary that only wants to minister to one kind of people.
The Bible refers to prayer 371. It refers to belief 271 times. It refers to love 714 times and it refers to money 2062 times.
Giving tests our spiritual commitment.
What is more important than you living a holy life?
If you seek worldly things before seeking God, you will get frustrated and fail to find God.
Don't seek anything before seeking God and His kingdom.
Giving puts material wealth into perspective.
Apply biblical principles to your life
Learn the benefits of biblical giving.
Develop a lifestyle of giving.
Some have the spiritual gift of giving and they have the automatic tendency to give without expecting anything in return.
When you live the way Christ has told you to live, it will set you apart from the world.
Give to others and expect God's blessings, not human blessings.
Is everything in your life open to God?
Try and get to a point where nothing matters except for pleasing God.
Sometimes when we are healthy and things are going well, we don't think about the things of God.
Sometimes God will bring a person to a point that the only thing that matters is their health and being right with God.
If you give something up, you won't want to return to it if it's bad for you.
If you paid attention to what you said and listened to, you might realize that you said and watched things that were inappropriate.
If your life is not blessed, you must not be obeying God.
If you want the blessings that God gives, then do what He says.
It can be very easy to wait forever instead of rebuking a friend in need of rebuke.
What will you depend on, today, for your needs?
Although you may be tempted to trust earthly means more than God, have more confidence in God than anything else.
The Bible will keep one from sin or sin will keep one from the Bible.
Do you spend as much time in the Word as you do your favorite hobby?
You have to stir yourself up and take hold of God. Nobody can do it for you and you can't do it for anybody else.
If God is a reality, if your soul is a reality and if you are an immortal being, why is your Bible shut?
God should take first place over television, over exercise and over everything else!
We must know scriptures before we can obey them.
Our words should convey the spiritual truths of the Bible.
Sometimes people will hate you for speaking the truth.
The Bible says that my Dad is bad (in other words, God is good and strong!).
We are all guilty of reading things and totally forgetting what we read.
In a crisis, we desperately need the scriptures memorized (in our heart).
God gives us boundaries and parameters because He loves us and doesn't want us to destroy ourselves; not because He's mean and doesn't want us to have fun.
Be determined to study the Bible.
We can find five minutes to read our Bible each day.
Some of us have so much dust on our Bible that we could write "damnation" in it with our finger.
God enriches the believer's life.
The entire Bible points toward Jesus.
There are beautiful things for those bold enough to seek and find Him.
These quotes came from God, me, the Inspirational Study Bible (with Max Lucado), Pastor Dale, D.L. Moody, Charles Spurgeon and Miles McPhearson.
These quotes can be used for sanctification and fun. Most of them are directly based on scripture and scriptural principles. Some of my quotes are humorous or rhetorical. Some are written from sermons and Bible studies. Others are lyrics from songs. If you'd like me to go into more detail on any of them, please email me.
Like most verses in the Bible, they can be debated. To use what I've written in the most beneficial way, try and trace them back to the scriptures and apply the true principles to your life in a meaningful way! Please don't sell my quotes or publish them for profit. If English is not your first language, you may not understand some of the quotes. I'm sorry, but some of them are English metaphors and deal with multiple word meanings. God bless you all!
Please make a commitment to pray for this ministry. As every believer is tempted and tried, this ministry faces trials also. God has blessed me, JCSM and the people who have been reached! Unfortunately, the enemy knows this and spiritual warfare is the result. Please at least pray that the devotions continue to be sent religiously, the web pages stay on the www and the subscribers are blessed, sanctified and protected from evil. Thank you very much in advance!
Do you want to help people receive the good news? We share the gospel over 2.5 million times each year! Please join us in the great commission. We're reaching new people every day with God's awesome Word! If God has blessed you and you wish to send a love offering to me and my ministry, please send it to the address below.

You can join our vision and help this ministry! Your donations will keep these ministries running and further our visions for evangelism. Hundreds of web pages have been created to lead people to the Lord. Frequently, we make new ones and they are used to bring more and more people into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. We're certain there will be more ways to reach people in the future.
Along with getting support, we also give support! JCSM regularly gives to churches and needy people. Another function of this ministry is to do counseling. We are always answering questions about life, the Lord and everything in between. Lastly, we do a lot of research on religious topics on the internet and library. You will definitely see the results of our hard work and your loving support, in the web pages, and in the weekly devotions!
For more about me and my service history, go to http://resume.jcsm.org. For what I do, my ministries and giving, go to http://vision.jcsm.org.
If you have received these devotions from someone other than JCSM, please email us and we will send them to you, personally, each week. Don't worry. We don't send forwards or any other junk mail. Plus, we refrain from giving your name to anyone.
The devotions are sent on Saturday and Sunday nights. The gospel is sent on the 11th of every month and the monthly newsletter is sent on the 20th. These are the only messages we send, however, please email me us you wish to be removed from this list. If you prefer to receive the devotions in Spanish, send us a request because the devotions have been reaching the Spanish speaking community for over a year!
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please email me! I would love to share the gospel with you. The Bible is very straightforward when it speaks about Heaven, Hell and eternal life. If there is any doubt that you are going to Heaven when you die, please let me know today!
Are you having trouble in life and need someone to talk to? You can call the youth crisis hotline at 1-800-HIT-HOME, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their motto is "help, not hassle". YDI pays for these calls and has helped over 1 million people! They are also looking for people to answer calls. Their web site is at www.1800hithome.com.
Would you like to feed starving people by simply clicking a button and paying absolutely nothing? Sponsors pay to donate food to hungry people all over the world. I click these nearly every day. It takes about 10 seconds and it donates food to needy people! Go here: www.stopthehunger.com and here www.thehungersite.com.
Go here to donate free Bibles to people: www.TheBibleSite.org. If you want to join a Christian organization that helps feed and clothe poor people, check into World Vision. You can see their site here: www.worldvision.com. Compassion International is another, great Christian organization that rivals World Vision. You can visit them here: www.ci.org.
Do you believe in evolution? If you can prove that the evolution of species has happened, Dr. Dino will give you $250,000. I know Kent Hovind and this is a legitimate offer. For more information, please see his web site: http://www.drdino.com.
JCSM now does regular mailings! If you are getting rid of your email or know someone who wants the devotions, but doesn't have email, please give us their address and we'll send them the devotions. If you don't have internet access, but want to read a certain web page or Bible lesson, let us know. We can copy and paste something into an email message for you. If you have internet access and need a great, online, study Bible, go here: www.biblestudytools.net. I recommend using either the King James Version or the New King James Version Bible.
JCSM operates in Oceanside, California, United States. This ministry has been certified by the Evangelical Ministries to New Religions. EMNR is an accrediting body for sound, Christian ministries that preach the true gospel of God to people in other religions and cults. Their web site is located here: http://www.emnr.org.
