This is the Weekly Devotional Message from
Jesus Christ Saves Ministries
http://www.JCSM.org
Over 1500 Links!
Hello!
It's a bird! It's a plane! Nope, it's the weekly devotions!
Have you visited the JCSM site, lately? There are many new web sites!
Our World Religions, Cults, Sects and Movements page has some new links. Have you wondered about the Taliban government and religious movement in Afghanistan? We have a lot of documented, detailed information about them. In addition to adding a link to the Taliban, we've added links to great information on Confucianism and the Quakers. To surf these sites, simply go here: http://www.jcsm.org/Contents/WorldReligions.htm.
Lately, I've been reading some very interesting books. My pastor recommended "The Trinity: A Classic Study of Biblical Trinitarianism" by Edward Bickersteth. It has been teaching me some deep things about the triune God!
I've also been reading a book called, "The Discovery of Genesis: How the Truths of Genesis Were Found Hidden in the Chinese Language". This book is incredible because it reveals ancient Chinese ideograms (word pictures) and how their language has come from events that transpired as early as the Garden of Eden! It's incredible to see how this very old civilization once worshiped a single, supreme God and knew him as Shang-Ti. You can find either of these books at www.half.com.
Last week, we sent the gospel to many people in Bangladesh. Please pray that they accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We were thankful for the chance to reach them and we'll continue to encourage them with the weekly devotions.
October had a record month of hits for JCSM! The average was 78 hits per day! At this rate, the gospel is being shared about once every 18 minutes! Praise the Lord. Please pray for continued growth and successful ministry.
Please pray for SwissAir. They've declared bankruptcy and the Swiss government has bailed them out. Right now, they are experiencing some more problems and they could ground their planes again.
My wife and I are flying to Israel in December. The leg of our trip that takes us from Los Angeles to Zurich is on SwissAir. We hope that they are still in business for our sake and for the sake of their employees.
On November 6, two new Christian albums are being released. Toby Mac releases his "Momentum" album and Third Day releases their "Come Together" album! I'm going to listen to the cds before I buy them, but I'm sure they'll be encouraging to people who enjoy their genre.
Miles McPhearson's Calgary Crusade led over 5,000 to Jesus Christ for salvation! I wish I could have been there to see it. In addition to the crusade, Miles led about 1200 people to Christ at a local speaking event in Calgary. Please pray that these new converts cling to Christ and grow spiritually.
Do you know anything about our B-52 Bomber? CNN has a site where you can learn about it. If you'd like to learn about this plane, go here: http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/p/nm/20011101/wl/b52_bombing_map.html.
If history tells us anything, it tells us that abusive governments have killed and ruined civilizations much more than terrorism. Let's pray that people don't use this time of rebuilding as a time to institute superfluous laws that hurt civilians in the name of security. Pray that people have wisdom and discernment, so they are not duped into handing all of their freedoms to their government and finding that their government abuses it's power.
Have you ever heard of Vladimir Zhirinovksy? I've created a web site for this charismatic, Russian leader. Many Christian prophecy buffs think he is the "Gog" who leads "Magog" into the battle in Ezekiel 38 and 39. If you'd like to learn about him, check out our newest site: http://www.vladimirzhirinovsky.com.
I've been writing songs and playing the guitar for many years. Lycos has let me put my songs on their server and you can download them for free. There are lyrics and many of my best songs here: http://listeningroom.lycos.com/fan/bands/freefood/Band.html.
I'm going to the San Diego Chargers' game on Sunday! My wife has never been to one, but I've been going to them for years. The Chargers are in 2nd place with a record of 5-2! Let's hope it's an exciting game.
God bless you as you seek our Lord and Savior! I pray He blesses you richly and shows you mighty and awesome things this week. When you seek Him with all of your heart, you will find Him.
Our country is on "high alert" right now. Our government thinks terrorists may attack some bridges in California. One of them, the Coronado bridge, is about 30 minutes from my house. Let's pray that our entire country is safe. God can protect us.
Are you receiving about twelve pages with this message? If this message is truncated, and perhaps you're only receiving half of it, you can always find these devotions on our web site! Simply go here: http://devos.jcsm.org.
This is your ministry, so please feel free to link to JCSM and forward these devotions to your friends and family. On the JCSM website, there are over 1500 links (pictures, midis, Bible lessons, humor, proverbial stories, links, devotions, poetry, prayer journals and much more!) and it has registered over 57,000 hits!
Would you like to support God's work on the web? If this ministry has touched you in a special way, please pray and consider sending a gift to JCSM. You can join us in our vision to reach people on the web with the good news! Please email me or see our address below.
Welcome to the new recipients of this message! Here are the devotions, challenge, moment of introspection, the Bible word of the week and the quotations for the week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you!
Love in Christ,

The Weekly Devotional Message
Day 1: "The End of the Age"
Matthew 13:39 "The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels."
Matthew 13:49, 50 "So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
Matthew 24:3 "Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"
Matthew 28:30 "Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen."
Prayer: "Thank you for telling us so much about this age and the things that will precede the end of the age! Bless us and make us like You, Lord. Praise You for being our perfect example and friend! Thank you for your faithfulness. Remind us that You are always here. Thank you for giving us your awesome Word. Thank you for giving us many signs that the end of the age is near! Thank you for helping us make sense of prophetic passages of scripture. Give us faith in You. Give us discernment, so we can know who to trust and who is spreading lies. Draw us close to You and help us to judge our own selves and words. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 2: "All Peoples"
John 12:32 "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself."
Romans 15:8-11 "Now I say that Jesus Christ has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers, and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written: For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, And sing to Your name. And again he says: Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people! And again: Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!"
Psalm 117:1 "Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!"
Matthew 28:19, 20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen."
Isaiah 56:7 "Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations."
Mark 11:17 "Then He taught, saying to them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations? But you have made it a 'den of thieves."
Genesis 22:15-18 "Then the Angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said: By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son--blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."
Prayer: "Thank you for dying for all peoples! Thank you for making a promise with Abraham to bless all the nations of the Earth! Thank you for making your house a house of prayer for ALL nations! Remind us that Jesus Christ is bigger than our culture or our race; He's the international Savior of the world. Thank you for giving everyone the same way to be saved. Let us pray for other peoples and embrace them. Praise You for loving diversity. Help us to put our prejudices aside and be like You, Lord. Thank you for saving people from countless different cultures. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 3: "One Nation Under God"
Ephesians 4:4-6 "There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."
Proverb 29:2 "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan."
Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Romans 13:1-4 "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil."
Prayer: "Thank you for giving us godly leaders, Lord. Help us to listen to them. Let us all grow in You. Thank you for letting me live in a nation where there are millions of Christians and the foundation is God. Give us wisdom, Lord. Help us to maintain our freedom in a time where people are apt to hand it over in the name of security. Thank you for knowing the future and making all things fit into your perfect plan. Lift us up and let us see You, Lord. Give us love for You and others. Let us be law abiding citizens. Let Christianity stay legal and don't let the devil gain a foothold into our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 4: "Are You Filled With Fear?"
Psalm 55:22 "Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved."
1 Peter 5:6, 7 "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."
1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love."
Isaiah 41:10 "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
Proverb 18:10 "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe."
Matthew 10:28 "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
Prayer: "Thank you for wanting our fears and worries! Thank you for changing our hearts and putting our feet on the Rock that is Christ! Bless us, increase our ministry, lay your hand on us and keep us from evil. You are the Lord and we love You. Thank you for lifting our heads and making us not only unashamed but willing to die for our faith. Thank you that Christians are not acting like the Muslim extremists. Bless us and let us all live for You. Help Christians to be unwavering in their faith in Jesus Christ. Make us one hundred times stronger than we ever thought we could be! In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 5: "He'll Ease Our Pain"
Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble."
Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
1 Peter 2:19, 20 "For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God."
James 5:13, 14 "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord."
Prayer: "Thank you for taking our pains, Lord. Thank you for soothing us and making the pain go away. Remind us that You are in the business of healing people and making them whole. Thank you for knowing exactly how to heal us. Thank you for the millions of people You have healed; inside and out. Let us be honest and humble with You, Lord. Remind us that You know everything - the past, present and future - what we did say, what we are thinking and what we will say. Let us be genuine. Thank you for loving us, even though You can see inside of us. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 6: "Thank God"
Psalm 118:1 "Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever."
1 Thessalonians 5:18 "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
2 Timothy 1:3a "I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did."
Psalm 100:4 "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name."
Prayer: "Thank you for giving us blue skies and white clouds. Thank you for the birds that sing. Thank you for palm trees and sunsets! Thank you for the beautiful beaches. Thank you for giving us joy and peace and all the fruits of your Spirit. Let us be godly people, Lord. Remove our foolishness. Help us to thank you for all things; the good, the bad and everything in between. Praise You for being so worthy of our thanks! If we could only see things like You do, we'd be thanking You all day and all night. Forgive us for our shortsightedness. Give us deeper and longer vision! To You be all the glory, honor and praise. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 7: "The Depravity of Man"
Psalm 14:3 "They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one."
Isaiah 53:6 "All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all."
1 Corinthians 1:25 "The foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men."
1 Corinthians 3:19, 20 "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He catches the wise in their own craftiness; and again, The LORD knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile."
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Prayer: "Thank you for dying for us, even when we were wretched sinners. Thank you for loving us more than we can comprehend or understand. Forgive us for being foolish. Forgive us for being wrong. Remind us that You and your Word are perfect sources of truth and if we want to be righteous, all we have to do is follow You and read the Bible. Thank you for making the Bible available to so many people! You are an awesome God. Thank you for helping people translate the Bible into many different languages. Thank you for giving us true wisdom from above. Let us see the difference between your wisdom and human wisdom, between your love and human love. Help us to choose You and the supernatural qualities that You possess. Remind us that fleshly, human desires lead to ruin. Thank you for holding our hand as we walk through this maze. Guide our steps, Lord. Keep speaking to us. We love You. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Challenge
Start a prayer and Bible reading journal!
Get a journal or notepad and make it your journal. Record the date. Read the Bible and write the reference of the passage you read. Also, record what you read and what it meant to you.
When you're done reading the Bible, write some prayer requests in your journal. Pray and write anything that God tells you. If God tells you to tell someone you're sorry, pray about it, write it down and do it. If God tells you to witness to someone, pray about it, write it down and witness to them.
When you get answers to your prayers, refer to when you prayed and make a note that God answered your prayer!
God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!
A Moment of Introspection
When Jesus told His disciples (and all readers of the Bible) to "go and make disciples of all nations", He was saying more than what meets the eye.
The word "nations" was translated from the Greek word "ethnos". This word transcends the known nations or countries in the world. "Ethnos" refers to races. Therefore, Christ's words should have been translated like this: "go and make disciples of all peoples and races".
The Bible Word of the Week
Genesis: begin or origin
The Quotations of the Week
There's a huge difference between simply knowing that we possess God's love in our hearts and actually experiencing that love in our lives.
In order to experience God's love freely flowing from our hearts out into our lives, we must be open and cleansed vessels.
We must recognize and acknowledge the negative things in our lives that are not of faith, and that will block God's love in our heart, and learn how to give them over to Him.
Make memories that you'll want to remember.
Whether you want to or not, you'll remember your past.
Don't let the devil lie to you.
How can you fear evil and be godly and the same time.
When your mind has experienced one train of thought for some time, try changing the subject and thinking about something completely different.
Men need to realize that masculinity is not synonymous with ungodliness.
I can because I never knew I couldn't.
Don't be like the seagulls with conditional love for the people that feed them.
These quotes came from God, me, the Inspirational Study Bible (with Max Lucado) and Nancy Missler.
These quotes can be used for sanctification and fun. Most of them are directly based on scripture and scriptural principles. Some of my quotes are humorous or rhetorical. Some are written from sermons and Bible studies. Others are lyrics from songs. If you'd like me to go into more detail on any of them, please email me.
Like most verses in the Bible, they can be debated. To use what I've written in the most beneficial way, try and trace them back to the scriptures and apply the true principles to your life in a meaningful way! Please don't sell my quotes or publish them for profit. If English is not your first language, you may not understand some of the quotes. I'm sorry, but some of them are English metaphors and deal with multiple word meanings. God bless you all!
Please make a commitment to pray for this ministry. As every believer is tempted and tried, this ministry faces trials also. God has blessed me, JCSM and the people who have been reached! Unfortunately, the enemy knows this and spiritual warfare is the result. Please at least pray that the devotions continue to be sent religiously, the web pages stay on the www and the subscribers are blessed, sanctified and protected from evil. Thank you very much in advance!
Do you want to help people receive the good news? We share the gospel over 2.5 million times each year! Please join us in the great commission. We're reaching new people every day with God's awesome Word! If God has blessed you and you wish to send a love offering to me and my ministry, please send it to the address below.

You can join our vision and help this ministry! Your donations will keep these ministries running and further our visions for evangelism. Hundreds of web pages have been created to lead people to the Lord. Frequently, we make new ones and they are used to bring more and more people into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. We're certain there will be more ways to reach people in the future.
Along with getting support, we also give support! JCSM regularly gives to churches and needy people. Another function of this ministry is to do counseling. We are always answering questions about life, the Lord and everything in between. Lastly, we do a lot of research on religious topics on the internet and library. You will definitely see the results of our hard work and your loving support, in the web pages, and in the weekly devotions!
For more about me and my service history, go to http://resume.jcsm.org. For what I do, my ministries and giving, go to http://vision.jcsm.org.
If you have received these devotions from someone other than JCSM, please email us and we will send them to you, personally, each week. Don't worry. We don't send forwards or any other junk mail. Plus, we refrain from giving your name to anyone.
The devotions are sent on Friday nights. The gospel is sent on the 11th of every month and the monthly newsletter is sent on the 20th. These are the only messages we send, however, please email me us you wish to be removed from this list. If you prefer to receive the devotions in Spanish, send us a request because the devotions have been reaching the Spanish speaking community for over a year!
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please email me! I would love to share the gospel with you. The Bible is very straightforward when it speaks about Heaven, Hell and eternal life. If there is any doubt that you are going to Heaven when you die, please let me know today!
Are you having trouble in life and need someone to talk to? You can call the youth crisis hotline at 1-800-HIT-HOME, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their motto is "help, not hassle". YDI pays for these calls and has helped over 1 million people! They are also looking for people to answer calls. Their web site is at www.1800hithome.com.
Would you like to feed starving people by simply clicking a button and paying absolutely nothing? Sponsors pay to donate food to hungry people all over the world. I click these nearly every day. It takes about 10 seconds and it donates food to needy people! Go here: www.stopthehunger.com and here www.thehungersite.com.
Go here to donate free Bibles to people: www.TheBibleSite.org. If you want to join a Christian organization that helps feed and clothe poor people, check into World Vision. You can see their site here: www.worldvision.com. Compassion International is another, great Christian organization that rivals World Vision. You can visit them here: www.ci.org.
Do you believe in evolution? If you can prove that the evolution of species has happened, Dr. Dino will give you $250,000. I know Kent Hovind and this is a legitimate offer. For more information, please see his web site: http://www.drdino.com.
JCSM now does regular mailings! If you are getting rid of your email or know someone who wants the devotions, but doesn't have email, please give us their address and we'll send them the devotions. If you don't have internet access, but want to read a certain web page or Bible lesson, let us know. We can copy and paste something into an email message for you. If you have internet access and need a great, online, study Bible, go here: www.biblestudytools.net. I recommend using either the King James Version or the New King James Version Bible.
JCSM operates in Oceanside, California, United States. This ministry has been certified by the Evangelical Ministries to New Religions. EMNR is an accrediting body for sound, Christian ministries that preach the true gospel of God to people in other religions and cults. Their web site is located here: http://www.emnr.org.
Since April of 1997, the weekly devotional message has been sent on the internet. This message currently reaches over 36,000 people in 99 countries. To read a list of these countries, go here: http://www.jcsm.org/misc/countries.htm. To read the archived devotions online, go here: http://devos.jcsm.org.
