This week, one of my guitar students quit their lessons. His Mom said the music wasn't diverse enough and they didn't like me talking to him about Jesus Christ. As a worship leader and Bible teacher who loves Jesus, it was impossible for me to keep worship songs and the gospel from Ryan. I taught him for eight months, so it was a little hard to abruptly stop lessons with him. Nonetheless, I'm happy to have given him the good news! Please pray that him and his family accepts Christ and goes to church.

P.O.D.'s has released a new album called Satellite! This album will be well-liked by those who enjoy Christian heavy metal. Their last album was purchased by millions of people (many non-Christians, too). If you want something different, edgy and loud, check them out!

I pray that God's hand is on you! Look up and don't fear. God is with you and He'll protect you.

The Weekly Devotional Message

Day 1: "Pray Until Something Happens (PUSH)"

1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray without ceasing."

James 5:16 "Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."

Matthew 7:7, 8, 11 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"

Prayer: "Thank you for giving us plenty of time to pray, Lord. Help us to pray enough. Help us to pray more than people who are in false religions. Thank you for hearing us! Thank you for loving us so much. Let us understand the power of prayer. Let us understand what it means to pray fervently. Thank you for making awesome things happen when we pray! Thank you for the miraculous answers to prayers. Help us to have more faith and pray bigger! Forgive us for praying too small. Let us see You how You truly are. Give us a deeper knowledge of You, your Word and prayer. You're our awesome God! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 2: "Our Only Security"

Proverb 18:10 "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe."

Psalm 61:3 "For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy."

2 Timothy 2:19 "Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."

Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble."

1 Corinthians 10:31 "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

Psalm 18:2, 3 "The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies."

Isaiah 26:4 "Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD, is the Rock of Ages."

John 10:28-30 "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. I and My Father are one."

Prayer: "Thank you for being our security and our strength! Lift us up and make us like You, Lord. Thank you for protecting us! Thank you for helping us stand against temptation. Thank you for being everywhere at once! There's no other God like You. Remind us that You are always there for us. Thank you for being such a great and true God. Thank you for knowing how to keep us safe. Let us cling to You in our time of need. Help the whole world to embrace You and not rely on false safety. Thank you for keeping us eternally safe from Hell! Remind all the saints that we are Heavenbound! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 3: "Our God Hears Us"

Psalm 116:1, 2 "I love the LORD, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live."

2 Chronicles 7:14 "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Psalm 55:19 "God will hear, and afflict them, Even He who abides from of old. Selah. Because they do not change, Therefore they do not fear God."

Psalm 40:1-3 "I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth - Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD."

Prayer: "Thank you for hearing our prayers! Thank you for never ignoring us. Thank you for answering our prayers perfectly. Remind us that You are there. Thank you for loving us enough to listen to us. Help us to listen to You, too. Thank you for hearing everything from shouts to whispers to thoughts! Help us to talk to You at the right time. Forgive us for not speaking to You. Remind us that we need to have a relationship with You. Show us how our relationship can suffer when we don't talk to You for a long time. Help us to learn from our mistakes and always talk to You. Thank you for changing our hearts when we give them to You. Thank you for giving us awesome things when we ask. Thank you for taking our burdens when we give them to You! You are our everything. In Jesus' name, Amen."

1 Samuel 3:6 "Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, Samuel! Samuel! And Samuel answered, Speak, for Your servant hears."

Exodus 6:2-6 "And God spoke to Moses and said to him: I am the LORD. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name LORD I was not known to them. I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were strangers. And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant. Therefore say to the children of Israel: I am the LORD; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments."

Acts 9:4, 5 "Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? And he said, Who are You, Lord? Then the Lord said, I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads."

Job 38:1-5 "Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?"

Jonah 1:1, 2 "Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me."

2 Chronicles 33:10 "And the LORD spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they would not listen."

Joshua 1:1, 8, 9 "After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, saying: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

Prayer: "Thank you for all of the awesome times when you've spoken to people. Thank you for the biblical examples of you talking and guiding the people You love! Remind us that You have a voice and You use it a lot. Let us listen closely to You. Thank you for taking the time to speak to us. Thank you for being so worthy of our time and devotion. Help us to be humble and ask You questions and listen for answers. Thank you for calling us to do great and awesome things! Help us to be unafraid of hearing from You. Help us to not worry about what You ask. Thank you for always giving the strength and the means to complete your will! To You be all the glory, honor and praise! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 5: "Would You Die For Your Faith?"

Acts 12:1, 2 "Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword."

John 15:3 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends."

Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Matthew 14:8-11 "So she, having been prompted by her mother, said, Give me John the Baptist's head here on a platter. And the king was sorry; nevertheless, because of the oaths and because of those who sat with him, he commanded it to be given to her. So he sent and had John beheaded in prison. And his head was brought on a platter and given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother."

Acts 7:57-60 "Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, Lord, do not charge them with this sin. And when he had said this, he fell asleep."

Daniel 6:16 "So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you."

Daniel 3:16-18 "Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up."

Matthew 10:21, 22 "Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved."

Prayer: "Give us great boldness and courage, Lord! Help us to do what is right; no matter what the cost may be! Thank you for giving everyone the strength they need to remain faithful. Remind us that your strength will be given to us when we need it. Help us to never deny our faith in You! Make us strong people of God. Let the ones who are playing games realize they aren't fooling You. Let the ones who are growing in you grow faster and become fully mature. Praise You for promising to complete the work that You began in us! Prepare us to die for our faith and help us to live for You, today. Thank you for wanting us to be bold and fearless. Increase our strength, Lord. Lift our heads and remind us that death is only the beginning of our life in Heaven! Remove our foolishness and help us to value life. Nonetheless, let us be honest when people ask us if we know You and love You. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 6: "Pagan Decrees"

Daniel 3:28-30 "Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God! Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this. Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the province of Babylon."

Daniel 6:26-28 "I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian."

Prayer: "Thank you for the pagan people who have turned to You! Thank you for the unchurched people who love You. Let us understand how unchurched cultures can still love You. Thank you for being the One, uncreated, supreme God! Thank you for having all people come from Adam and Eve and then Noah's family. Thank you for having a perfect purpose and plan! There's no other God like You. Thank you for the examples in the Bible where Gentile people have turned to You! Let us understand how this could be possible. Thank you for paving the way for modern day missionaries. Let us reach people in the far corners of the Earth. Remove our worries and fears and help us to fulfill the plan of not only the Great Commission, but the entire Word of God. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 7: "All Peoples"

2 Chronicles 16:9 "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him."

Psalms 67:1, 2 "God be merciful to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us, Selah. That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations."

Psalm 72:17 "His name shall endure forever; His name shall continue as long as the sun. And men shall be blessed in Him; All nations shall call Him blessed."

Mark 11:17 "Then He taught, saying to them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations? But you have made it a 'den of thieves."

Luke 24:47 "Repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."

Psalm 96:3 "Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples."

Psalm 148:11-13 "Kings of the earth and all peoples; Princes and all judges of the earth; Both young men and maidens; Old men and children. Let them praise the name of the LORD, For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven."

Galatians 3:8 "And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, In you all the nations shall be blessed."

Revelation 7:9, 10 "After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"

Prayer: "Thank you for dying for everyone. Thank you for wanting everyone to live! Thank you for knowing everything and having a perfect plan. Let us understand what You desire, Lord. Thank you for making your perfect plan run perfectly, despite human foul-ups. Let us know that we can't thwart your plan, even if we're really stupid. Give us more wisdom, knowledge and faith, Lord. Help us to do your will. Thank you for using imperfect people to do your perfect work! Thank you for loving people all over the world. Save more people, Lord. Bring them to your truth. Let entire countries and villages be saved by the power of the gospel! Thank you for being that power. Do mighty things in these last days, Lord. Thank you for causing Christians to realize the time is short and we better give our lives completely to You! Cause revival in the world, Lord. Let lots and lots of people accept You and be raptured. To You be all the glory, honor and praise, forever and ever. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Challenge

Take a friend out to lunch! Buy them something to eat and enjoy your time with them.

If they don't know Christ, pray and consider using this opportunity to lead them to the Lord. You could also invite them to church.

God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!

A Moment of Introspection

A lot of the things people are living for are meaningless.

What are you living for? Next paycheck? A new car? A cell phone? Or Jesus Christ?

Put your trust in God. Want whatever He wants for You and He will give you what you truly need.

Imagine if God gave us everything we wanted. Our lives would be so full of junk that we'd ruin our whole lives. We would have no time or discipline. We'd be too busy playing and wasting time.

All we really need is love; love for God and others. Do you have to have a new car or other earthly things in order to love God and others? Of course not. Love is a choice. Every minute of the day you can choose to love or not to love.

Ask God what He wants you to have. Ask God to loose you from the chains of worldly gains. He will break those chains, set your feet on a Rock and help you have pure desires. You'll feel better and earn rewards in Heaven!

Don't let your biggest treasure on Earth be asphalt in Heaven!

The Bible Trivia Question

Who were the three people that were saved from a fiery furnace?

(Email me your answer!)

Last Week's Bible Trivia Answer

Abraham paid tithes to King Melchizedek. See Genesis 14:18-20.

An Excerpt from "The Revised and Expanded Answers Book" by Ken Ham, Jonathan Sarfati and Carl Wieland

More Evidence Something Is Wrong -
14C in Fossils Supposedly Millions of Years Old

Carbon dating in many cases seriously embarrasses evolutionists by giving ages that are much younger than those expected from their model of earth history. A specimen older than 50,000 years should have too little 14C to measure.

Laboratories that measure 14C would like a source of organic material with zero 14C to use as a blank to check that their lab procedures do not add 14C. Coal is an obvious candidate because the youngest coal is supposed to be millions of years old, and most of it is supposed to be tens or hundreds of millions of years old. Such old coal should be devoid of 14C. It isn't. No source of coal has been found that completely lacks 14C.

Fossil wood found in "Upper Permian" rock that is supposedly 250 Ma old still contained 14C. Recently, a sample of wood found in rock classed as "middle Triassic," supposedly some 230 million years old gave a 14C date of 33,720 + or - 430 years. The accompanying checks showed that the 14C date was not due to contamination and that the "date" was valid, within the standard (long ages) understanding of this dating system.
It is an unsolved mystery to evolutionists as to why coal has 14C in it, or wood supposedly many millions of years old still has 14C present, but it makes perfect sense in a creationist world view.

You don't get respect with age. You earn it.

These quotes came from God, me, the Inspirational Study Bible (with Max Lucado) and Miles McPhearson.

These quotes can be used for sanctification and fun. Most of them are directly based on scripture and scriptural principles. Some of my quotes are humorous or rhetorical. Some are written from sermons and Bible studies. Others are lyrics from songs. If you'd like me to go into more detail on any of them, please email me.

Like most verses in the Bible, they can be debated. To use what I've written in the most beneficial way, try and trace them back to the scriptures and apply the true principles to your life in a meaningful way! Please don't sell my quotes or publish them for profit. If English is not your first language, you may not understand some of the quotes. I'm sorry, but some of them are English metaphors and deal with multiple word meanings. God bless you all!

Please make a commitment to pray for this ministry. As every believer is tempted and tried, this ministry faces trials also. God has blessed me, JCSM and the people who have been reached! Unfortunately, the enemy knows this and spiritual warfare is the result. Please at least pray that the devotions continue to be sent religiously, the web pages stay on the www and the subscribers are blessed, sanctified and protected from evil. Thank you very much in advance!

Do you want to help people receive the good news? We share the gospel over 1 million times each year! Please join us in the great commission. We're reaching new people every day with God's awesome Word! If God has blessed you and you wish to send a love offering to me and my ministry, please send it to the address below.

Dr. Jason Gastrich

You can join our vision and help this ministry! Your donations will keep these ministries running and further our visions for evangelism. Hundreds of web pages have been created to lead people to the Lord. Frequently, we make new ones and they are used to bring more and more people into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. We're certain there will be more ways to reach people in the future.

Along with getting support, we also give support! JCSM regularly gives to churches and needy people. Another function of this ministry is to do counseling. We are always answering questions about life, the Lord and everything in between. Lastly, we do a lot of research on religious topics on the internet and library. You will definitely see the results of our hard work and your loving support, in the web pages, and in the weekly devotions!

For more about me and my service history, go to http://resume.jcsm.org. For what I do, my ministries and giving, go to http://vision.jcsm.org.

If you have received these devotions from someone other than JCSM, please email us and we will send them to you, personally, each week. Don't worry. We don't send forwards or any other junk mail. Plus, we refrain from giving your name to anyone.

The devotions are sent on Tuesday nights. The gospel is sent on the 11th of every month and the monthly newsletter is sent on the 20th. These are the only messages we send, however, please email me us you wish to be removed from this list. If you prefer to receive the devotions in Spanish, send us a request because the devotions have been reaching the Spanish speaking community for over a year!

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please email me! I would love to share the gospel with you. The Bible is very straightforward when it speaks about Heaven, Hell and eternal life. If there is any doubt that you are going to Heaven when you die, please let me know today!

Are you having trouble in life and need someone to talk to? You can call the youth crisis hotline at 1-800-HIT-HOME, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their motto is "help, not hassle". YDI pays for these calls and has helped over 1 million people! They are also looking for people to answer calls. Their web site is at www.1800hithome.com.

Would you like to feed starving people by simply clicking a button and paying absolutely nothing? Sponsors pay to donate food to hungry people all over the world. I click these nearly every day. It takes about 10 seconds and it donates food to needy people! Go here: www.stopthehunger.com and here www.thehungersite.com.

Go here to donate free Bibles to people: www.TheBibleSite.org. If you want to join a Christian organization that helps feed and clothe poor people, check into World Vision. You can see their site here: www.worldvision.com. Compassion International is another, great Christian organization that rivals World Vision. You can visit them here: www.ci.org.

Do you believe in evolution? If you can prove that the evolution of species has happened, Dr. Dino will give you $250,000. I know Kent Hovind and this is a legitimate offer. For more information, please see his web site: http://www.drdino.com.

JCSM now does regular mailings! If you are getting rid of your email or know someone who wants the devotions, but doesn't have email, please give us their address and we'll send them the devotions. If you don't have internet access, but want to read a certain web page or Bible lesson, let us know. We can copy and paste something into an email message for you. If you have internet access and need a great, online, study Bible, go here: www.biblestudytools.net. I recommend using either the King James Version or the New King James Version Bible.
