Over 1500 Links!

Hello!

Welcome to one of the web's most encouraging messages!

Last month, the main web site averaged 68 hits per day and over 2000 in total! These numbers keep rising, so praise the Lord. The main page just reached 55,000 hits. We hope and pray that far more people will be encouraged and led to Christ by JCSM. If you haven't been there for awhile, please click the link above and surf the JCSM site!

Why is the Bible sufficient for us (Sola Scriptura)? Does the Bible mention that no other religious books should be used in the Christian life? The answers are simple and you can find them here: http://www.carm.org/catholic/biblesufficient.htm.

A Christian friend named Julian Marion needs a study Bible. Would you like to help and send him one? He lives in South Africa and only has an old, non-study Bible. Please pray and consider sending us a donation, so we can buy this Bible and send it to him. If you'd wish to contact him directly and send it to him, this is also an option.

Do you want to read about the coalition that's forming against terrorism? CNN.com is a great site for recent news. You can even vote (near the bottom of the page) on issues that are changed frequently.

I enjoyed seeing and clicking the coalition map on CNN's site. This map showed all the major countries in the world and when you clicked on them, it told their feelings about terrorism and a U.S. led coalition against it. You can see it here: http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/trade.center/coalition.maps/index.html.

I don't endorse Jack Van Impe, but his web site has a great news page. Up-to-the-minute, unbiased news is offered and it relates to prophecy and current events. If you'd like to read about the latest developments, please go here: http://www.jackvanimpe.com/cgi-bin/update.cgi.

Lately, I've been reading an awesome book called, "Eternity In Their Hearts." Don Richardson is a missionary and he's penned great information about ancient tribes and civilizations. There are numerous legends of an uncreated Creator, forgiveness of sins through a redeemer, a lost book that would be returned by a white skinned person, finding the true God through various measures, etc. It's awesome to see how the people who spread and filled the earth after the Tower of Babel have kept loving God. Unfortunately, some of these people have accepted false teachings and forgotten the exact truths that they were given. At any rate, this book is awesome and I highly recommend checking it out.

How is your driving? The following site will show you if you are a good or bad driver. Surf here for some probing questions: http://www.governmentguide.com/autos/unsafe_driving/signs.adp.

I pray that God has comforted and encouraged you this week. I hope you are persisting in your spiritual growth. The world is changing, but our God is not. Cling to Him and He will see you through!

Did you know that many albums are released in the United Kingdom, but not in the United States? This is true about the bands Delirious, Tree63, etc. If you'd like to see (and even order!) what you've been missing, try this site: http://www.goldusa.com.

On Monday, I heard Skillet perform at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa! They are as awesome as they were on their last tour. They played songs from their new album and led us into a great spirit of worship. I sincerely recommend their new album "Alien Youth".

If you're in the Los Angeles area, you'll want to hear Caedmon's Call on Saturday night! They're playing at Azusa University and it's at 7:30pm and $13 per seat. Call 626-815-5495 for more information. I'm sure they'll be playing songs from their latest, dynamic, worship album.

On Tuesday, 25 Delirious songs will be released on one album called "Deeper: the definitive worship experience"! This album will have one, new song and a plethora of hits. Check your local Christian book store for details.

Forefront records is releasing some new songs and giving away some cool stuff. Visit their site here: http://www.forefrontrecords.com

President Bush has called for a day of prayer on October 11th. Please take some time and pray on Thursday. We'll see awesome things when this nation turns to God and stays with Him.

Do you need an American flag? I just saw an ad on tv and they're selling an American flag, "God Bless America" flag and an American flag pin for $14.99. If you're interested, call 1-800-605-4477.

Please pray for the Billy Graham Crusade at Cal State University Fresno! Since Dr. Graham is aging, this may be one of his last crusades. They will be from October 11th-14th in Fresno's Bulldog Stadium!

My wife and I are having our 6 month anniversary on Sunday! Woohoo! Being married to Sarine has been wonderful. Thanks for your prayers and encouragement!

Speaking of prayer, does your prayer life need a lift? If so, you should check out my paper on prayer. I've written a basic paper on things we should pray for. Here it is: http://biblelessons.jcsm.org.

Are you receiving about twelve pages with this message? If this message is truncated, and perhaps you're only receiving half of it, you can always find these devotions on our web site! Simply go here: http://devos.jcsm.org.

This is your ministry, so please feel free to link to JCSM and forward these devotions to your friends and family. On the JCSM website, there are over 1500 links (pictures, midis, Bible lessons, humor, proverbial stories, links, devotions, poetry, prayer journals and much more!) and it has registered over 55,000 hits!

Would you like to support God's work on the web? If this ministry has touched you in a special way, please pray and consider sending a gift to JCSM. You can join us in our vision to reach people on the web with the good news! Please email me or see our address below.

Welcome to the recipients of this message! Here are the devotions, challenge, the Bible word of the week, the Bible trivia question, last week's trivia answer, an excerpt from "The Revised and Expanded Answers Book" and the quotations for the week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you!

The Weekly Devotional Message

Day 1: "The Proverbs 31 Woman"

Proverbs 31:10-31 "Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar. She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants. She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard. She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good, And her lamp does not go out by night. She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hand holds the spindle. She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, For all her household is clothed with scarlet. She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants. Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all. Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates."

Prayer: "Thank you for the examples of 'Proverbs 31' women in our lives! Bless them and help them to be like You, Lord. Thank you for the way that You love both men and women. Thank you for wanting women to be strong and capable, not weak and foolish. Give us all wisdom, Lord. Help us to see things like You do. Forgive us for our sins. Purify us and let us want what You want. Thank you for giving us your awesome Word. Let us consume it and let it consume us. Thank you for making your Word living and active! Praise You for being a living God! There's no other God like You. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 2: "Great Faith From Gentiles"

Matthew 8:5-8 "Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented. And Jesus said to him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed."

2 Chronicles 9:5-9 "Then the Queen of Sheba said to the king: It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom. However I did not believe their words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me. You exceed the fame of which I heard. Happy are your men and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom! Blessed be the LORD your God, who delighted in you, setting you on His throne to be king for the LORD your God! Because your God has loved Israel, to establish them forever, therefore He made you king over them, to do justice and righteousness. And she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great abundance, and precious stones; there never were any spices such as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon."

2 Kings 5:15-17 "And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, Indeed, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please take a gift from your servant. But he said, As the LORD lives, before whom I stand, I will receive nothing. And he urged him to take it, but he refused. So Naaman said, Then, if not, please let your servant be given two mule-loads of earth; for your servant will no longer offer either burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but to the LORD."

Jonah 3:5-8 "So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands."

Acts 10:1, 2 "There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always."

Prayer: "Thank you for the examples of Gentiles that have had great faith! Increase our faith, Lord. Thank you for the people who love You, but call you a different name because they haven't heard the name of Jesus Christ. Help missionaries reach the people who have never heard about You. Thank you for the examples in the Bible of people that loved You and had faith. Help us to love all people and not judge them without making a righteous judgment. Give us boldness to bring the gospel into all the world! Thank you for paving the way for us. Remind us of the stories of entire tribes and thousands of people accepting the gospel! Silence Satan, the demons and the fallen angels. Let us see You and do your will. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 3: "Issues Of The Heart"

Proverb 4:23 "Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life."

Colossians 3:23, 24 "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."

Matthew 22:37 "Jesus said to him, You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind."

1 Peter 1:22b "Love one another fervently with a pure heart."

Psalm 51:10 "Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me."

Prayer: "Purify our hearts, Lord. Make us white as snow! Thank you for wanting us to be pure and have a sincere relationship with You. Convict all the people who are basically playing games with You and others. Help all people who call Jesus their Lord and Savior be fully devoted to You! Thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit. Let us be sensitive to it's prompting and teaching. Protect us and lift us up, Lord. We love You and adore You. You are our God! Help us to love You and others more and more. To You be all the glory, honor and praise! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 4: "The Gospel Is For All Races"

Acts 10:34, 35 "Then Peter opened his mouth and said: In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him."

Isaiah 56:7 "Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations."

Matthew 28:18-20 "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen."

Matthew 18:14 "Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish."

Prayer: "Thank you for including the entire world in your saving plan! Thank you for loving everyone with an awesome love that is beyond our comprehension! Remind us to love all people and not discriminate. Forgive the people who have hated others because of the color of their skin or because of their ethnic heritage. Thank you for showing us the right way to act. Thank you for being the perfect example of love and never turning anyone away because of superficial reasons. Thank you for helping us to love like You do. Let us look into people and not just on them. Remind us that the skin is the first thing we see, but not the most important thing about a person. Thank you for promising us new bodies in Heaven! Heal the ones who have been hurt from discrimination and racism. Lift them up and let them forgive and love their oppressors. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 5: "The Power of Prayer"

Matthew 21:13 "And He said to them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves."

Hebrews 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

Matthew 21:22 "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

Matthew 6:5-13 "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

Ephesians 3:20 "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

Matthew 17:6 "So the Lord said, If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea, and it would obey you."

Prayer: "Thank you for all the awesome verses on prayer! Let us be people of prayer. Thank you for doing incredible things when we humble ourselves and pray. Remind us that You can do things that are far beyond our imagination. Help us to pray more and rely on You more. Let us pray very big, too! Thank you for teaching us to pray like You taught your apostles to pray. Thank you for showing us the answers to our prayers. Help us to keep praying even when we don't see answers. Thank you for giving us Heaven, a place where we'll be with You and inevitably see answers to prayers that we never knew on Earth! Thank you for keeping track of our prayers, blessings and rewards. Let us be so caught up in loving You and others that we don't worry about those things. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 6: "Eternity In Their Hearts"

Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse."

Luke 19:37-40 "Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest! And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples. But He answered and said to them, I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out."

Psalm 14:1 "The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good."

Ecclesiastes 3:11a "He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts."

Prayer: "Thank you for giving people a knowledge of You. Thank you for having every person descend from Adam and Eve, then Noah's family and finally be dispersed from the Tower of Babel. Help us to understand our history. Help us understand why people like the Chinese and hundreds of other cultures have legends of the Earth being flooded and one family being saved in a boat. Thank you for putting eternity in the hearts of humankind! Thank you for giving everyone a chance to know You. Help us to accept people who love You and have discernment. Let us know which people love You and which people love a God that is different than the one, true God. Praise You for being our everything and being everywhere at once! You are awesome. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 7: "Fill Up With God"

Psalm 23:5 "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over."

1 Corinthians 10:3, 4 "All ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ."

1 Corinthians 3:2, 3 "I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?"

Hebrews 5:12-14 "For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

Prayer: "Thank you for filling us up, Lord! Thank you for wanting to give us more and more of You until we overflow! Thank you for wanting us to have an incredible, supernatural, dynamic life; not just a regular one. Thank you for feeding us a food that never runs out and never makes us ill. Let us have more and more of You, Lord! Thank you for taking the time to feed us, even though we get confused and wander like sheep who have forgotten their shepherd's voice. Lift us up. Thank you for knowing how to love and motivate each person on this planet, so they see You and stay by your side. Let more and more people accept You, Lord. Remind us that our time on Earth is running out. Help people to share the good news and spend their spare time (or their lives) giving to You and others for the kingdom of God! Show us what is eternal and show us what is temporal. Let us invest in eternity and cut off the work that has no fruit. To You be all the glory, honor and praise, forever and ever! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Challenge

Take some extended time and pray. Pray for anything that comes into your mind. Pray for the war against terrorism, your family, friends, spiritual and political leaders, etc.

God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!

The Bible Word of the Week

hypocrite: a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion

The Bible Trivia Question

What was the name of the king that Abraham paid tithes to?

(Email me your answer!)

Last Week's Bible Trivia Answer

Jesus prayed before He picked the 12 apostles. See Luke 6:12 and 13.

An Excerpt from "The Revised and Expanded Answers Book" by Ken Ham, Jonathan Sarfati and Carl Wieland

Dinosaurs?

One commonly raised problem is "How could Noah fit all those huge dinosaurs on the ark?" First, of the 668 supposed dinosaur genera, only 106 weighed more than ten tons when fully grown. The largest animals were probably represented by "teenage" or even younger specimens. It may seem surprising, but the median size of all animals on the ark would most likely have been that of a small rat, according to Woodmorappe's up-to-date tabulations, while only about 11 percent would have been much larger that a sheep.

Germs?

Another problem often raised by atheists and theistic evolutionists is "How did disease germs survive the flood?" This is a leading question -- it presumes that germs were as specialized and infectious as they are now, so all the ark's inhabitants must have suffered from every disease on earth today. But germs were probably more robust in the past, and may have only fairly recently lost the ability to survive in different hosts or independently of a host. In fact, even now many germs can survive in insect vectors or corpses, or in the dried or frozen state, or be carried by a host without causing disease. Furthermore, degeneration of hosts could allow microbes to cause disease where in the past the microbes may have lived in the host's gut, for example, without causing disease. Such loss of resistance would be consistent with the general degeneration of life since the Fall.

The Quotations of the Week

When you're so in love with Jesus that unbelievers call you a "lost cause", consider it a huge blessing!

The power of God will be unleashed when the people of God pray.

If the popularity of Jesus was determined by the amount of people in your prayer meetings, how popular would Jesus be?

Don't be afraid of the silence.

Don't just pray for a lighter burden. Pray for a stronger back, too.

Don't let your life characterize the statement, "You didn't have because you didn't ask."

God makes things happen that are mathematically impossible.

Life is precious and short.

As Christians, we don't have to be afraid.

My future is as bright as God's promises.

We're either going to live and serve God, be raptured or die and go to Heaven.

Walk by faith, not by feeling.

If God thought about us for only a moment, it would be more than we deserved.

God is the master artist, so don't get angry if you can't predict the finished product.

These human bodies weren't designed to live forever.

The body will not live forever, but the soul will.

Don't forget that God has a new body prepared for you.

Christ will rapture us in the twinkling of an eye (nanosecond).

The rapture is when Christ returns for His people and the second coming is when Christ comes with His people.

If you're a Christian, you shouldn't be believing or saying that all religions are truthful and leading to Heaven.

All belief systems cannot be true because they contradict each other.

Allah is not the name of the God that Christians worship.

Not all religions teach that a relationship with a personal God is possible.

These quotes came from God, me, the Inspirational Study Bible (with Max Lucado), Dan Stolebarger and Greg Laurie.

These quotes can be used for sanctification and fun. Most of them are directly based on scripture and scriptural principles. Some of my quotes are humorous or rhetorical. Some are written from sermons and Bible studies. Others are lyrics from songs. If you'd like me to go into more detail on any of them, please email me.

Like most verses in the Bible, they can be debated. To use what I've written in the most beneficial way, try and trace them back to the scriptures and apply the true principles to your life in a meaningful way! Please don't sell my quotes or publish them for profit. If English is not your first language, you may not understand some of the quotes. I'm sorry, but some of them are English metaphors and deal with multiple word meanings. God bless you all!

Please make a commitment to pray for this ministry. As every believer is tempted and tried, this ministry faces trials also. God has blessed me, JCSM and the people who have been reached! Unfortunately, the enemy knows this and spiritual warfare is the result. Please at least pray that the devotions continue to be sent religiously, the web pages stay on the www and the subscribers are blessed, sanctified and protected from evil. Thank you very much in advance!

Do you want to help people receive the good news? We share the gospel over 1 million times each year! Please join us in the great commission. We're reaching new people every day with God's awesome Word! If God has blessed you and you wish to send a love offering to me and my ministry, please send it to the address below.

You can join our vision and help this ministry! Your donations will keep these ministries running and further our visions for evangelism. Hundreds of web pages have been created to lead people to the Lord. Frequently, we make new ones and they are used to bring more and more people into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. We're certain there will be more ways to reach people in the future.

Along with getting support, we also give support! JCSM regularly gives to churches and needy people. Another function of this ministry is to do counseling. We are always answering questions about life, the Lord and everything in between. Lastly, we do a lot of research on religious topics on the internet and library. You will definitely see the results of our hard work and your loving support, in the web pages, and in the weekly devotions!

For more about me and my service history, go to http://resume.jcsm.org. For what I do, my ministries and giving, go to http://vision.jcsm.org.

If you have received these devotions from someone other than JCSM, please email us and we will send them to you, personally, each week. Don't worry. We don't send forwards or any other junk mail. Plus, we refrain from giving your name to anyone.

The devotions are sent on Tuesday nights. The gospel is sent on the 11th of every month and the monthly newsletter is sent on the 20th. These are the only messages we send, however, please email me us you wish to be removed from this list. If you prefer to receive the devotions in Spanish, send us a request because the devotions have been reaching the Spanish speaking community for over a year!

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please email me! I would love to share the gospel with you. The Bible is very straightforward when it speaks about Heaven, Hell and eternal life. If there is any doubt that you are going to Heaven when you die, please let me know today!

Are you having trouble in life and need someone to talk to? You can call the youth crisis hotline at 1-800-HIT-HOME, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their motto is "help, not hassle". YDI pays for these calls and has helped over 1 million people! They are also looking for people to answer calls. Their web site is at www.1800hithome.com.

Would you like to feed starving people by simply clicking a button and paying absolutely nothing? Sponsors pay to donate food to hungry people all over the world. I click these nearly every day. It takes about 10 seconds and it donates food to needy people! Go here: www.stopthehunger.com and here www.thehungersite.com.

Go here to donate free Bibles to people: www.TheBibleSite.org. If you want to join a Christian organization that helps feed and clothe poor people, check into World Vision. You can see their site here: www.worldvision.com. Compassion International is another, great Christian organization that rivals World Vision. You can visit them here: www.ci.org.

Do you believe in evolution? If you can prove that the evolution of species has happened, Dr. Dino will give you $250,000. I know Kent Hovind and this is a legitimate offer. For more information, please see his web site: http://www.drdino.com.

JCSM now does regular mailings! If you are getting rid of your email or know someone who wants the devotions, but doesn't have email, please give us their address and we'll send them the devotions. If you don't have internet access, but want to read a certain web page or Bible lesson, let us know. We can copy and paste something into an email message for you. If you have internet access and need a great, online, study Bible, go here: www.biblestudytools.net. I recommend using either the King James Version or the New King James Version Bible.

JCSM operates in Oceanside, California, United States. This ministry has been certified by the Evangelical Ministries to New Religions. EMNR is an accrediting body for sound, Christian ministries that preach the true gospel of God to people in other religions and cults. Their web site is located here: http://www.emnr.org.
