Hello!

Unless you have been living under a rock, I'm sure you've heard about the tragedies in the United States. JCSM's prayers are with the families of the victims, the rescue workers and the world's political and military leaders.

Since we're 3000 miles from New York, in San Diego, we didn't experience any direct contact with the effects of the terrorism. Thank you for your prayers and concern. We received emails from friends in Norway, India, South Africa and beyond. Praise the Lord.

JCSM condemns these terrorist attacks and encourages the international community to find the powers that supported these evil people. If you have any information about the recent events, please email me. I'll forward it to the appropriate government agency.

The Christian band Delirious has made their "White Ribbon Day" single available for download. This encouraging song was released in 1997, after a tragedy in another country. It's words are appropriate for the situation in the United States. You can freely download it here: http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/284/delirious1.html.

Please use this tragedy to share the gospel. God's ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He is still in control and has a plan. If you've noticed the enormous amounts of people flooding the churches and getting saved, you'll have an idea of what God has planned.

It took me five days to hear Jesus' name on CNN, but I'm thankful He was mentioned. Don't simply light a candle. Share the gospel. Lighting a candle won't get anyone to Heaven. Ecumenicalism won't either. Only Jesus saves people from Hell.

There was a church service at the Washington Cathedral on Friday, September 14th. Dr. Billy Graham and President George Bush spoke. If you'd like to read a transcript of President Bush's words, please go here: http://www.cnn.com/2001/US/09/14/bush.memorial.

Do you know what Muslims believe? I hope you're not trusting what politicians think and say Muslims believe. It's obvious that the people in the news haven't read the Koran because they're making false assertions about it. For my paper on the Koran and a searchable, online Koran, please go here: http://koran.jcsm.org.

The Red Cross and several other organizations need financial support, so they can find survivors in the New York rubble, clear 400,000 tons of debris and perform many other functions. Helping.org has a list of reputable organizations and a secure way to donate to them. Here is their link: http://www.helping.org.

Are you wondering which airlines are safe and running? The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) has this information on their web site. Simply go here: http://www.faa.gov.

Please pray for the country of Afghanistan and it's Taliban government. The same government that has supported the prime terrorist suspect, Osama bin Laden, persecutes and kills Christians (this had been in the news, lately, too). A few weeks ago, we reached 152 Afghani people with the gospel. I pray they accept Christ and there is a revival in their nation.

Has anyone told you that Nostradamus predicted the terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers? We were sent that email and effectively debunked it. His prophecy, which was very open ended and unspecific, talks about something happened in the ninth month of the new millennium. It puts the tragedy at the 45th parallel (or latitude). The Twin Towers were on the 41st parallel, so that nullifies Nostradamus (once again) from being a prophet of God. Further, a clause has been added to his prophecy and it is a hoax. You can read about this (for AOL users) here: aol://4344:3167.nostrad.21071434.684863321. For non-AOL users, you can research these things here: http://www.nostradamus-repository.org.

Would you like to hear my Psalm 23 song? It's encouraging and you can find it here: http://listeningroom.lycos.com/fan/bands/freefood/Band.html. It was encouraging to hear President Bush mention some words from Psalm 23 in one of his national addresses!

I urge you to cling to Christ and not let terrorism scare you. Terrorists wage a psychological battle. If they've scared you into hiding in your house and not living your life, they've won. Rise up, with the power of Christ, and overcome any fears you may face.

Please email me if you need any special prayer. Several friends have emailed me about friends that have died. My prayers go to them and their families. God will comfort the ones who mourn and grieve. There will be sunshine after the rain.

Please pray and consider fasting for the United States and the situation in the world. I fasted on Sunday and felt God's comforting presence. God will do great things when you pray and fast.

I know I've mentioned this site before, but the best, most informed site for end times information is still the Rapture Ready site. Todd has gauged current events for several years and he offers his comments on the recent tragedies in light of Bible prophecy. You can see his site here: http://www.raptureready.com.

I've been reading a great book on Creation called, "Bones of Contention: A Creationist Assessment of Human Fossils". Marvin Lubenow wrote this book and it explains a lot about the fossil record. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll tell you how to find it.

Are you looking for information on Creation? Here's a great site I found: http://www.creationists.org.

God bless you as you grow in faith and love! I hope you take God's hand and walk with Him. He will be faithful to you.

A friend and worship leader at The Rock Church has her own web site. She has a great voice and a heart for the Lord. You can see her site here: http://www.Mary-James.com.

This Wednesday is the national See You At The Pole rally! For 10 years, millions of teachers, students, faculty, parents and other people will be meeting at school flag poles are praying. Please find your nearest school and pray for them and/or with them. This will be an awesome time of unity and prayer. You can see more details at their site: http://www.SYATP.com.

Megiddo opens at theaters this weekend! This is a Christian, end times movie and it's the sequel to The Omega Code. Here is their site: http://www.megiddothefilm.com.

This weekend, The Festival Con Dios is coming to California! I'll be there with my wife. A bunch of Christian bands will be performing. It'll be a show you won't want to miss. Check their site for more info and tickets: http://www.festivalcondios.com.

The devotions will be sent on Tuesdays, now. We will continue sending the devotions and posting them on the web. Please pray that this ministry continues to grow and reach the masses with the truth of God's Word.

Are you receiving about twelve pages with this message? If this message is truncated, and perhaps you're only receiving half of it, you can always find these devotions on our web site! Simply go here: http://devos.jcsm.org.

This is your ministry, so please feel free to link to JCSM and forward these devotions to your friends and family. On the JCSM website, there are over 1500 links (pictures, midis, Bible lessons, humor, proverbial stories, links, devotions, poetry, prayer journals and much more!) and it has registered over 54,000 hits!

Would you like to support God's work on the web? If this ministry has touched you in a special way, please pray and consider sending a gift to JCSM. You can join us in our vision to reach people on the web with the good news! Please email me or see our address below.

Welcome to the recipients of this message! Here are the devotions, challenge, moment of introspection, the Bible word of the week, the Bible trivia question, last week's trivia answer, an excerpt from "The Revised and Expanded Answers Book" and the quotations for the week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you!

Love in Christ,

Thank you for being worthy of our devotion and praise. Help us to be better worshipers of You. Thank you for accepting us the way we are and helping us to grow spiritually. Let us pour out our hearts to You and be changed. Thank you for having such great mercy and patience with people. Let us be open and verbal with our worship and praise. Give us boldness and courage! To You be all the glory, honor and praise. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 2: "He Stretched Out the Heavens"

Jeremiah 10:12 "He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, And has stretched out the heavens at His discretion."

Isaiah 45:12 "I have made the earth, And created man on it. I, My hands, stretched out the heavens, And all their host I have commanded."

Prayer: "Thank you for making the Heavens! There's no other God like You. Thank you for making places that we can't even see. Thank you for making things that we can't understand! Praise You for making people that pride themselves on worldly wisdom be foolish in your eyes. Increase our knowledge and wisdom. Let us accept You as God. Thank you for making awesome things like planets, stars, comets and moons. Let us marvel at them and ultimately marvel at You. Thank you for being our awesome Creator. Thank you for knowing and caring about every little thing that happens. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 3: "Your Family"

Mark 3:35 "For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother."

Galatians 4:6, 7 "And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, Abba, Father! Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."

2 Thessalonians 3:6 "But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us."

Thank you for all of the awesome people that love us, even though we don't deserve it. Help us to love You and others, deeply. Let us grow in You, Lord. Thank you for giving us loving people that want to know us and help us. Let us understand how incredible that is. Praise You for creating such an awesome body of believers! Day 4: "It's Okay To Cry"

Psalm 6:6 "I am weary with my groaning; All night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears."

2 Corinthians 2:4 "For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you, with many tears, not that you should be grieved, but that you might know the love which I have so abundantly for you."

Luke 7:44 "Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head."

Prayer: "Thank you for showing us that it's okay to cry. Let the sad ones mourn. Help the people who are afraid to cry simply do what's best. Thank you for holding our hand and helping us through tough times. Thank you for making us human, with human emotions. Let us understand them. Let us do everything for your glory. Remind us that we'll have to face all seasons of life. Help us to accept your will and not be angry about what You have for us. Thank you for having a perfect plan, Lord. Let us see things like You do. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

Jeremiah 29:13 "And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."

Prayer: "Thank you for having all the answers, Lord. There's no other God like You! Let us seek You and find the truth. Thank you for actually being the truth - it's part of your character. Help us to cling to You and the truths in your perfect Word. Praise You for giving us such an awesome book! There is no other book like the Bible. Help us understand how it must be a supernatural book because there's no way so many authors could devise a perfect story over thousands of years. Thank you for giving answers to the ones who diligently seek You. Help us to seek You wholeheartedly. Thank you for rewarding the ones who truly love You and seek You. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 6: "God's Heart"

Luke 19:10 "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Matthew 18:14 "Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish."

Luke 24:47 "Repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."

Prayer: "Thank you for having a heart for the lost. Thank you for dying for everyone and wanting to save us all. Help us understand how much You love us. Thank you for loving us more than we love ourselves. Thank you for having the highest hopes for us. Thank you for being such a great father. Remind us that You are faithful! Praise You for never leaving us. Thank you for being our biggest and most powerful ally. Help us to understand what we have in You. Thank you for giving us faith and love. Give us more of You, Lord. Let us know what we can do in your name. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 7: "Fast For Freedom - The Battle Belongs to the Lord"

2 Chronicles 20:3, 4 "And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. So Judah gathered together to ask help from the LORD; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD."

John 3:5-10 "So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish? Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it."

Matthew 6:16-18 "Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly."

Prayer: "Thank you for giving us the opportunity to fast. Let us fast in your name and for your glory. Praise You for giving us a way we can seriously draw closer to You. Thank you for being our leader and showing us where to walk. Remind us of the awesome things that have happened when your followers have fasted. Thank you for changing us quicker and showing us awesome things when we neglect food for You. Give us discipline and self-control. Help us to fast longer than we think we could. Praise You for giving us a huge, deep well of life inside of us. Thank you for being our life! Increase our faith and increase our love. Let us do what your Word says and let us see the awesome blessings and supernatural phenomenons that occur when we do. To You be all the glory, honor and praise, forever and ever. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Challenge

Buy an American flag! You can even buy several. Put them in your house, on your car, in your office or anywhere else you wish.

Support our country by flying our flag. Our nation is unifying and it's always encouraging to see the stars and stripes.

God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!

A Moment of Introspection

Do you know who Thomas E. Burnett, Jr. is? In my opinion, he's a hero.

Picture it. You hear that two planes have crashed into the Twin Towers because they were hijacked. You also hear that one crashes into the Pentagon.

Armed men have take over your plane. You suddenly feel the plan make a U-turn. What would you do? Thomas Burnett wanted to be a hero.

The people aboard the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania voted and decided to take back the plane from the terrorists. They rushed the evil men and made the plane crash in a rural area of Pennsylvania.

Most people think this plane would have crashed into the Capital building or the White House if it didn't crash in Pennsylvania. Praise the Lord for Thomas and his bold comrades.

I pray that we are bold and courageous, too. Every day, we have the opportunity to make a difference for God. We may not be in a physical, life or death situation, but we are among many people who are facing a spiritual life or death situation.

Pray to God for boldness. Look up and let Him lift you up. We have no idea when and where persecution and death will occur. However, we know we live in a different world than we live in last week. We need God and we need to be courageous servants for Him.

If you believe, don't die quietly. Make a noise for Christ. Tell your friends and family about Jesus Christ. Pray and ask God where you should serve Him. He's preparing something for you to do.

The Bible Trivia Question

What form did the Lord use to fill the temple with His glory? Hint: ministering had to stop when the Lord's glory filled the temple in this way.

Last Week's Bible Trivia Answer

Noah was to put 7 of every clean animal in the ark. See Genesis 7:2.

An Excerpt from "The Revised and Expanded Answers Book" by Ken Ham, Jonathan Sarfati and Carl Wieland

The Biblical Flood: The Trigger for the Ice Age

To develop an ice age, where ice accumulates on the land, the oceans need to be warm at mid- and high latitude, and the landmasses need to be cold, especially in the summer. Warm oceans evaporate lots of water, which then moves over the land. Cold continents result in the water precipitating as snow rather than rain, and also prevent the snow from thawing during summer. The ice thus accumulates quickly.

Slow-and-gradual evolutionary scenarios to explain the Ice Age do not work. Long-age theories involve a slow cooling down of the earth, but this will not generate an ice age. If the oceans gradually cooled, along with the land, by the time everything was cold enough so that the snow didn't melt during summer, evaporation from the oceans would be insufficient to produce enough snow to generate the massive ice sheets. A frozen desert would result, not an ice age.

However, the global flood described in the Bible provides a simple mechanism for an ice age. We would expect warm oceans at the end of the global flood, due to the addition of hot subterranean water to the pre-flood ocean and heat energy released through volcanic activity. Oard and Vardiman point to evidence that the ocean waters were in fact warmer just before the Ice Age, as recorded by the oxygen isotopes in the shells of tine marine animals called forminifera.

Large amounts of volcanic dust and aerosols from residual volcanic eruptions at the end of and after the flood would have reflected solar radiation back into space, causing low temperatures over land, and especially causing the summers to be cold. Dust and aerosols slowly settle out of the atmosphere, but continued post-flood volcanism would have replenished these for hundreds of years following the flood. In support of this, there is evidence of continued widespread volcanism in the large quantities of volcanic rocks among so-called "Pleistocene" sediments, which probably formed soon after the flood.

Vardiman has shown, using standard knowledge of atmospheric circulation, that the warm oceans after the flood, and the large rates of cooling at the poles, would have driven extreme atmospheric convection. This would have created an enormous polar hurricane-like storm system covering a large portion of the Arctic. This, he suggests, could have functioned for much of the 500-year period up to the glacial maximum. Such circulation patterns would have delivered to the higher latitudes of the vast amounts of snow that would have quickly become ice sheets, spreading first over the continents, and then later over the oceans as the water cooled down towards the end of the glacial period.

These quotes came from God, me, the Inspirational Study Bible (with Max Lucado), Shawn Mitchell, Philip Schaff, Josh McDowell and Miles McPhearson.

These quotes can be used for sanctification and fun. Most of them are directly based on scripture and scriptural principles. Some of my quotes are humorous or rhetorical. Some are written from sermons and Bible studies. Others are lyrics from songs. If you'd like me to go into more detail on any of them, please email me.

Like most verses in the Bible, they can be debated. To use what I've written in the most beneficial way, try and trace them back to the scriptures and apply the true principles to your life in a meaningful way! Please don't sell my quotes or publish them for profit. If English is not your first language, you may not understand some of the quotes. I'm sorry, but some of them are English metaphors and deal with multiple word meanings. God bless you all!

Please make a commitment to pray for this ministry. As every believer is tempted and tried, this ministry faces trials also. God has blessed me, JCSM and the people who have been reached! Unfortunately, the enemy knows this and spiritual warfare is the result. Please at least pray that the devotions continue to be sent religiously, the web pages stay on the www and the subscribers are blessed, sanctified and protected from evil. Thank you very much in advance!

Do you want to help people receive the good news? We share the gospel over 1 million times each year! Please join us in the great commission. You can join our vision and help this ministry! Your donations will keep these ministries running and further our visions for evangelism. Hundreds of web pages have been created to lead people to the Lord. Frequently, we make new ones and they are used to bring more and more people into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. We're certain there will be more ways to reach people in the future.

Along with getting support, we also give support! JCSM regularly gives to churches and needy people. Another function of this ministry is to do counseling. We are always answering questions about life, the Lord and everything in between. Lastly, we do a lot of research on religious topics on the internet and library. You will definitely see the results of our hard work and your loving support, in the web pages, and in the weekly devotions!

For more about me and my service history, go to http://resume.jcsm.org. For what I do, my ministries and giving, go to http://vision.jcsm.org.

If you have received these devotions from someone other than JCSM, please email us and we will send them to you, personally, each week. Don't worry. We don't send forwards or any other junk mail. Plus, we refrain from giving your name to anyone.

The devotions are sent on Monday nights. The gospel is sent on the 11th of every month and the monthly newsletter is sent on the 20th. These are the only messages we send, however, please email me us you wish to be removed from this list. If you prefer to receive the devotions in Spanish, send us a request because the devotions have been reaching the Spanish speaking community for over a year!

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please email me! I would love to share the gospel with you. The Bible is very straightforward when it speaks about Heaven, Hell and eternal life. If there is any doubt that you are going to Heaven when you die, please let me know today!
