This is the Weekly Devotional Message from
Jesus Christ Saves Ministries
http://www.JCSM.org
Over 1500 Links!
Hello!
Men, women and children of all ages! Check out this week's devos!
The sequel to the Omega Code opens at theaters on September 21. "Megiddo" has an awesome web page and looks like an equally exciting film. It's playing at select theaters and you can find them here: http://www.megiddothefilm.com.
Please pray for the people of Algeria. Christians are being persecuted there, so last week, we shared the gospel with over 100 Algerians. We haven't received much of a response, but it was great to share the good news. Every week, we'll be sharing the gospel with persecuted countries. Please read this week's Challenge (below) to see how you can easily, quickly do this for free!
Have you ever been to a Promise Keepers (http://www.promisekeepers.org) conference? I've been to two of them and they're awesome. I'll be attending this year's PK conference in Anaheim. Here is what I learned last year: http://www.jcsm.org/biblelessons/PK2000.htm.
Catholicism has some beliefs that are very different from Christians' beliefs. The "miracle" of the Eucharist is one of them. For a revealing and somewhat humorous research paper on this subject, please visit our newest site: http://jcsm.org/WR/Catholicism/eucharist.htm.
Would you like recent world news that pertains to end times prophecies? The Rapture Ready site has this news in an easy-to-read format. Plus, it's updated very frequently and often appears before I hear it on CNN's Headline News! Here is their site: http://www.raptureme.com/scgi-bin/rrnews_list.cgi.
If you like Josh McDowell and live in San Diego, you'll have to hear him on September 2! Josh will be speaking, at 6pm, at Shadow Mountain Community Church! Call 619-440-1531 for directions.
Unfortunately, two miserable shows are starting to air on television. CBS is airing one where the main character is a trans-gender person (a man who dresses like a woman and has sex with men). FOX is airing a show where dead friends and relatives are channeled. I was sent a random, special email from FOX telling me about "Crossing Over with John Edward". Please pray that these shows are quickly removed from the airwaves. They don't glorify God and they promote forbidden things.
Many Christian albums are being released on August 28! Among them are Kevin Max's "Stereotype Be", Skillet's "Alien Youth" and the Jabez Prayer Album! Check them out at your local, Christian store. If you'd like to read an interview from Kevin Max, please go here: http://surf.to/popviews.
I have some exciting news! Last week, I was hired to teach Bible and History at a new, local, Christian school! I'll be teaching junior highers and school will begin next Monday. Praise the Lord for this awesome opportunity!
I'll continue doing my internet ministry, so don't worry. You shouldn't notice any difference in the content of the messages, the maintenance of the web sites or the vision for spreading the good news. I'll also try and keep answering my emails in a timely manner. Thanks in advance for your prayers and encouragement!
Last week, a skeptic emailed me with his anti-Bible web site. He wanted me to respond to his problems about the Bible. I told him I'll email him about one each week and I encouraged him to read a Bible commentary and the original scriptures. If you'd like to see his site and email him, please do! I'd love to have your help in giving Donovan a rational, biblical response to some of his false assertions. Here's his site and email address: http://www.cris.com/~donovanj/bible/bible.html (donovanj@cris.com).
I hope God is blessing you a lot. If you don't see God's blessings, pray bigger and pray more. God is waiting to open the floodgates of blessings. Keep trusting Him and walking with Him. He will be faithful and keep His promises.
Switchfoot is on tour in Southern California! For concert information, please see their web site: http://www.switchfoot.com!
If you or someone you know are struggling with homosexuality, you'll want to see our Bible lesson on the subject. This site is short and sweet. Plus, it's been recently updated. Here you go: http://www.jcsm.org/biblelessons/homosexuality.htm.
Would you like to read 136 of God's names? I've made a web page with God's names and the verses where you can find them! Check them out here: http://www.jcsm.org/biblelessons/godsnames.htm.
Are you receiving about twelve pages with this message? If this message is truncated, and perhaps you're only receiving half of it, you can always find these devotions on our web site! Simply go here: http://devos.jcsm.org.
This is your ministry, so please feel free to link to JCSM and forward these devotions to your friends and family. On the JCSM website, there are over 1500 links (pictures, midis, Bible lessons, humor, proverbial stories, links, devotions, poetry, prayer journals and much more!) and it has registered over 52,000 hits!
Would you like to support God's work on the web? If this ministry has touched you in a special way, please pray and consider sending a gift to JCSM. You can join us in our vision to reach people on the web with the good news! Please email me or see our address below.
Welcome to the recipients of this message! Here are the devotions, challenge, moment of introspection, the Bible word of the week, the Bible trivia question, last week's trivia answer, an excerpt from "The Revised and Expanded Answers Book" and the quotations for the week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you!
Love in Christ,

Day 1: "Our Imperishable Possessions"
1 Corinthians 9:25 "And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown."
Revelation 2:10 "Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life."
1 Peter 5:2-4 "Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away."
2 Timothy 4:8 "Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing."
John 14:2, 3 "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."
Psalm 37:18 "Day by day, God sees the good deeds done by godly men and gives them eternal rewards."
1 Corinthians 2:9 "But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."

Prayer: "Thank you for giving us things that will never grow old! Thank you for giving us rewards in Heaven. Help us to weigh the importance of Heavenly rewards vs. earthly rewards. Forgive us for being foolish and laying up our treasures in the wrong place. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Let us love You and others more and more. Give us more faithfulness to You, Lord. Thank you for showing us the way. Thank you for wanting us to have awesome rewards! Thank you for preparing things for us that we can't even imagine. Reveal to us the truth of your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 2: "Love God"
1 John 3:15-17 "Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth."
Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."
1 John 4:20, 21 "If someone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also."

Matthew 22:37, 38 "Jesus said to him, You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment."
Prayer: "Thank you for making love the most important thing in life. Thank you for actually being love! Help us to understand You better. Increase our love. Thank you for teaching us how to love. Forgive us for loving half-heartedly. Forgive us for being selfish and wrong. Thank you for loving us with an awesome purity. Thank you for being a perfect example of love! There is no other God like You. You are our one and only Savior and love. Thank you for loving us first. Help us to love in truth and deed; not just words. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 3: "What Is Sin?"
James 4:17 "Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin."
James 1:15 "Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death."

Prayer: "Thank you for defining sin for us. Help everyone to realize that they've sinned. Thank you for dying for our sins, Lord. Thank you for being the only, perfect sacrifice that removes our sins! Thank you for washing us clean and making us holy. Remind us that only You can make us holy. Praise You for being so holy that even our sin can't stain You. Thank you for wanting to purify us. Help us to seek You wholeheartedly and desire more purity. Thank you for making the pursuit of holiness a lifelong process. Thank you for joining us in this journey and helping us along the way to Heaven! In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 4: "The Son of God in the Old Testament"
Daniel 3:24, 25 "Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said to the king, True, O king. Look! he answered, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."
Genesis 32:24, 25 "Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob's hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him."
Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
Daniel 9:25, 26 "Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times. And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined."

Praise You for being a mighty and perfect God. Help us to be students of your Word. Help us to find You in the Bible and rejoice! Thank you for giving us joy and wanting us to have an awesome life. To You be all the glory! In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 5: "God's Faithfulness"

Thank you for creating us, knowing us and loving us. Let us see You how You really are. Thank you for defying natural laws. Thank you for being everywhere at once! Thank you for creating time. Let us stand in awe of You and know that You are God. Thank you for having no rival, no contradiction and no blemish. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Titus 2:6-8, 15 "Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you. Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you."

Prayer: "Thank you for wanting us to encourage others. Help us to love others deeply. Let us edify others with our speech. Help us to use words to build up and not tear down people. Give us self-esteem, Lord. Remind us that people need love. Let us see the good in others. Let us have hope for them, too. Help us to encourage people to do good and keeping doing good. Let us always point people to You. Thank you for being the source of hope, truth, love and all good things! You are an awesome God. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Thank you for giving us good examples and bad examples in the Bible. Help us to learn from both of them. Give us great wisdom, Lord. Thank you for the faith that you've put inside us. Let us increase our faith by knowing You better and trusting You more. Let us learn to pray better by knowing what your Word says about prayer. Give us godly mentors and friends. Help us to have a high standard for ourselves. Let us touch You, Lord! Let us grow into godly men and women! To You be all the glory, honor and praise, forever and ever! In Jesus' name, Amen."
Challenge
Download ICQ and share the gospel with someone in another country!
ICQ is an internet chat program. It's safe and easy to use. However, if you are using a broadband connection, it'd be wise to use a firewall (like always).
In only minutes, you can download ICQ, find someone in another country (emails are available from over 100 countries!) and share the gospel with them! You can either chat with them or send the gospel to them vai email.
Praise God for the internet and the medium of ICQ. You can download it at www.icq.com. God bless you as you meet this week's challenge!
A Moment of Introspection
Before you leave the house, if you don't make a decision about what you will or won't do, you'll probably end up doing what you don't want to do.
The Bible Word of the Week
Torah: the Hebrew word for the five books of Moses, constituting the Pentateuch (the first give books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy)
The Bible Trivia Question
How many churches are mentioned in the first three chapters of the book of Revelation? (Extra credit if you can name them!)
(Email me your answer!)
Last Week's Bible Trivia Answer
Methuselah was the oldest living person on the Earth and died before his Dad because his Dad was Enoch. Enoch never died and was taken to Heaven by God.
An Excerpt from "The Revised and Expanded Answers Book"
by Ken Ham, Jonathan Sarfati and Carl Wieland
All Tribes and Nations are Descendants of Noah's Family?
The Bible makes it clear that any newly "discovered" tribe ultimately goes back to Noah. They are not a group of people who have never had superior technology or knowledge of God in their culture. Rather, their culture (going back to Noah) began with (a) a knowledge of God, and (b) technology at least sufficient to build a boat of ocean-liner size. Romans chapter 1 suggests the major reason for this technological loss and cultural degeneration. It is linked to the deliberate rejection by their ancestors of the worship of the living God.
Therefore, the first priority in helping a "backward" people group should not be secular education and technical aid, but first and foremost the gospel.
In fact, most "primitive" tribes still have a memory, in their folklore and religion, of the fact that their ancestors turned away from the living God, the Creator. Don Richardson, missionary of Peace Child fame, has shown that a missionary approach, unblinded by evolutionary bias, and this looking for this link and utilizing it, has borne a bountiful and blessed harvest on many occasions.
Jesus Christ, God's reconciliation in the face of man's rejection of the Creator, is the only truth that can set men and women of every culture, technology, people group, or color, truly free (John 8: 32, 14: 6).

These quotes came from God, me, the Inspirational Study Bible (with Max Lucado), John Cooper, Tyrone Moore, Ray Bentley, Dr. Mike Slocumb, Dr. Shawn Mitchell and Miles McPhearson.
These quotes can be used for sanctification and fun. Most of them are directly based on scripture and scriptural principles. Some of my quotes are humorous or rhetorical. Some are written from sermons and Bible studies. Others are lyrics from songs. If you'd like me to go into more detail on any of them, please email me.
Like most verses in the Bible, they can be debated. To use what I've written in the most beneficial way, try and trace them back to the scriptures and apply the true principles to your life in a meaningful way! Please don't sell my quotes or publish them for profit. If English is not your first language, you may not understand some of the quotes. I'm sorry, but some of them are English metaphors and deal with multiple word meanings. God bless you all!
Please make a commitment to pray for this ministry. As every believer is tempted and tried, this ministry faces trials also. God has blessed me, JCSM and the people who have been reached! Unfortunately, the enemy knows this and spiritual warfare is the result. Please at least pray that the devotions continue to be sent religiously, the web pages stay on the www and the subscribers are blessed, sanctified and protected from evil. Thank you very much in advance!
Do you want to help people receive the good news? We share the gospel over 1 million times each year! Please join us in the great commission. We're reaching new people every day with God's awesome Word! If God has blessed you and you wish to send a love offering to me and my ministry, please send it to the address below.
You can join our vision and help this ministry! Your donations will keep these ministries running and further our visions for evangelism. Hundreds of web pages have been created to lead people to the Lord. Frequently, we make new ones and they are used to bring more and more people into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. We're certain there will be more ways to reach people in the future.
Along with getting support, we also give support! JCSM regularly gives to churches and needy people. Another function of this ministry is to do counseling. We are always answering questions about life, the Lord and everything in between. Lastly, we do a lot of research on religious topics on the internet and library. You will definitely see the results of our hard work and your loving support, in the web pages, and in the weekly devotions!
For more about me and my service history, go to http://resume.jcsm.org. For what I do, my ministries and giving, go to http://vision.jcsm.org.
If you have received these devotions from someone other than JCSM, please email us and we will send them to you, personally, each week. Don't worry. We don't send forwards or any other junk mail. Plus, we refrain from giving your name to anyone.
The devotions are sent on Monday nights. The gospel is sent on the 11th of every month and the monthly newsletter is sent on the 20th. These are the only messages we send, however, please email me us you wish to be removed from this list. If you prefer to receive the devotions in Spanish, send us a request because the devotions have been reaching the Spanish speaking community for over a year!
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please email me! I would love to share the gospel with you. The Bible is very straightforward when it speaks about Heaven, Hell and eternal life. If there is any doubt that you are going to Heaven when you die, please let me know today!
Are you having trouble in life and need someone to talk to? You can call the youth crisis hotline at 1-800-HIT-HOME, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their motto is "help, not hassle". Go here to donate free Bibles to people: www.TheBibleSite.org. If you want to join a Christian organization that helps feed and clothe poor people, check into World Vision. You can see their site here: www.worldvision.com. Compassion International is another, great Christian organization that rivals World Vision. You can visit them here: www.ci.org.
Do you believe in evolution? If you can prove that the evolution of species has happened, Dr. Dino will give you $250,000. I know Kent Hovind and this is a legitimate offer. For more information, please see his web site: http://www.drdino.com.
JCSM now does regular mailings! If you are getting rid of your email or know someone who wants the devotions, but doesn't have email, please give us their address and we'll send them the devotions. If you don't have internet access, but want to read a certain web page or Bible lesson, let us know. We can copy and paste something into an email message for you. If you have internet access and need a great, online, study Bible, go here: www.biblestudytools.net. I recommend using either the King James Version or the New King James Version Bible.
