Over 1500 Links!
Hello!
Welcome to the one of the most encouraging things you'll read this week!
The crusades were awesome these weekend! Between the five Harvest Crusades and the Miles Ahead Crusade, approximately 10,000 people came forward and accepted Christ! Please pray for the new converts to divorce the world and grow spiritually.
I've been investigating other religions. The things I've found are incredible. Last Sunday, I attended a Catholic mass. You've gotta read what I saw. Here is the page dedicated to "The World Religions, Cults, Sects and Movements Explored": http://www.jcsm.org/Contents/WR.htm. Next church: The International Church of Christ (Boston Movement). Please pray for us as we go, discover and reveal other churches and religions.
When we sent the devotions last week, my email was down for a few hours. If you emailed me and I didn't respond, I didn't get it. Please resend your message. It's working fine now and it has been working fine all week.
Last week, some people received the devotions as a zipped file. This happened because AOL doesn't allow emails over a certain size. AOL 7.0 will allow larger emails, however, it hasn't been released to the general public, yet. Since I can tell when the devotional becomes too big for AOL users, I'm going to try and keep it under the limit. I'm sorry if the zipped file frightened you. Rest assured that you can never get a virus from my devotions.
Have you noticed that gas prices have been decreasing? It's awesome that both times I asked everyone to pray about the gas prices, they have decreased. Now, I can buy 87 octane gas for $1.53. The price was $1.93 and even above $2 at some places. Please keep praying! There's no limit on what God can do.
My 40 day fast is going very well! Today is day 22. I'm excited about the next couple of weeks. Please pray that God keeps giving me lots of strength and energy. I've put my fasting journals on the web and you can see them here: http://www.jcsm.org/Fasting/2nd40DayFast.htm.
I hope God is blessing you a lot! You're in my prayers!
MP3.com is ok, but did you know there was a ChristianMP3.com? Well, there is! For free downloads, go to www.ChristianMP3.com.
I've had such an awesome time at Christian crusades and music festivals I made a web page for them! Here is a list of links to tons of great crusades and festivals: http://www.jcsm.org/Contents/CCF.htm. If you have one you'd like to add to this list, please email me!
August 3-4 is the Worship Xcellence Conference! For information and details, go here: www.worshipxcellence.com.
Do you need to have filtered web access? Do you want to support a Christian internet service provider? If so, simply go here: http://www.pkfamily.com.
This week I'm coaching another soccer camp! Please pray that it goes really well. I'm excited about having another group of Christian kids. I'll be teaching them all the basics of soccer.
Well, it's official. Sarine and I are flying to Israel in December! Praise the Lord. Please pray that all the details come together nicely. Speaking of Israel, I updated 30 pictures from my last Israel trip. The Tripod server had removed them from the web! They didn't like the fact that I put a bunch of pictures on my Tripod account. I've uploaded them to jcsm.org and you can find them here: http://www.jcsm.org/Israel1997/PicturesofIsrael.htm. There are 70 pictures in total.
Do you need some great, Christian music? I bought some new albums, recently. They include Circadian Rhythm, Tree63, Tait and Big Tent Revival Live! With all this great music being released, all I can suggest is that you go to a Christian book store and check it out!
This Wednesday, July 11, Steve Wiggins (from Big Tent Revival) is singing and playing guitar at Maranatha (Rancho Bernarndo, Ca)! The show begins at 7pm. When the music is finished, Ray Bentley will give us a message.
I'm engaging with some conversations with a man who is a leader in on one of the biggest Catholic apologetics ministries in the world. I met him a couple years ago and I've been learning a lot about the Catholic religion, so I've beginning to ask him some questions. Please pray for us. I'd love for him to know and understand the Jesus of the Bible and explain to me why he followers the Catholic church despite their history and departure from God's Word.
Do you need panty hose? There's a free offer online: http://www.silkies.com/Offer/W011/Offer1.html
Baseball's All-Star Game is on Tuesday! It is in Seattle and on FOX. It begins at 5pm.
FYI: AOL gives 2 mb of space per screen name. However, if you put 1 of their Hometown banners on 1 of your pages, they'll give you 2 more mb (4mb total). Further, if you put their Hometown banner on all of your pages, they will give you 12 mb of total space. I just found this, so I wanted to "pay it forward".
Do you want to take a quick, religious quiz? Beliefnet has made a quiz that asks 20 multiple choice questions and uses the answers to classify you. If you want to take it for fun, go here: http://www.beliefnet.com/section/quiz/index.asp?sectionID=10002&surveyID=83
Are you receiving about twelve pages with this message? If this message is truncated, and perhaps you're only receiving half of it, you can always find these devotions on our web site! Simply go here: http://devos.jcsm.org.
This is your ministry, so please feel free to link to JCSM and forward these devotions to your friends and family. On the JCSM website, there are over 1500 links (pictures, midis, Bible lessons, humor, proverbial stories, links, devotions, poetry, prayer journals and much more!) and it has registered over 49,000 hits!
Would you like to support God's work on the web? If this ministry has touched you in a special way, please pray and consider sending a gift to JCSM. You can join us in our vision to reach people on the web with the good news! Please email me or see our address below.
Welcome to the recipients of this message! Here are the devotions, challenge, moment of introspection, the Bible word of the week, the Bible trivia question, last week's trivia answer, an excerpt from "The Revised and Expanded Answers Book" and the quotations for the week. Have a fantastic week and God bless you!
Love in Christ,

The Weekly Devotional Message
Day 1: "My Redeemer Lives!"
Psalm 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer."
Isaiah 44:6, 24 "Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God. Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, And He who formed you from the womb: I am the LORD, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;"
Ephesians 1:7 "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace."
1 Corinthians 1:30 "But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God - and righteousness and sanctification and redemption."
Job 19:25a "For I know that my Redeemer lives."
Prayer: "Thank you for being our living Redeemer! There's no other God like You. Thank you for pulling us out of the pit and putting our feet on the Rock. Thank you for taking sinful people and making them worth something. Help us understand what redemption means. Praise You for giving us your Word. Help us to learn it and understand it. Thank you for being such a great and awesome God. Bless us and make us like You, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 2: "Do You Love the World?"
1 John 2:15, 16 "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life - is not of the Father but is of the world."
Matthew 6:24 ""No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."
Proverb 23:17 "Do not let your heart envy sinners, But be zealous for the fear of the LORD all the day;"
1 John 2:17 "And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever."
Prayer: "Thank you for making a distinction between the things of God and the things of the world. Help us to know what they are. Thank you for making the things of God enormously better than what the world offers. Forgive us for our sins, Lord, and purify us. Increase our love for You and the things of God. Help us to completely divorce the world. Reveal to us things we need to leave behind. Help us to seek You and the truth. Show us which things are profitable and which things are not. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 3: "Find God's Will"
Proverb 8:17 "I love those who love me, And those who seek me diligently will find me."
Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
Ephesians 5:17 "Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is."
Prayer: "Thank you for wanting us to know your will. Thank you for giving us your revealed will in the Bible! Help us to know it, memorize it and apply it. Thank you for loving us so much. Help us to pray and hear your personal will for our lives. Thank you for caring about us enough that you'll talk to us and help us. Thank you for having awesome plans for us! Thank you for having the highest hopes of anyone on Earth. Help us to understand your ways. Give us more wisdom and grace. Help us to hear your voice and know when it's You. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 4: "Astonish God With Your Faith"
Matthew 8:8-13 "The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it. When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then Jesus said to the centurion, Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you. And his servant was healed that same hour."
Matthew 15:26-28 "But He answered and said, It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs. And she said, Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Then Jesus answered and said to her, O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed from that very hour."
Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
Prayer: "Thank you for giving us faith, Lord. Please give us more faith. Help us to take more risks for You. Help us to believe every word you said. Thank you for requiring us to have faith. Show us what You will, Lord. Thank you for having a plan that is greater than our comprehension. Help us to be patient. Thank you for giving us what we need, when we need it. Help us to know that You are in control. Praise You for your power! Praise You for making and sustaining all living things. Let us know You and your ways. Let us trust in You. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 5: "Faith Demands Actions"
James 2:17, 18 "Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works."
Philippians 2:12 "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."
Hebrews 11:28, 29 "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire."
Ecclesiastes 12:14 "For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil."
Prayer: "Thank you for wanting us to do good deeds, Lord. Help us to understand that doing good things doesn't save us, but saved people should be doing good deeds. Thank you for the perfection of your Word. Help us to understand how James' words correlate perfectly with Paul's words. Increase our knowledge and understanding. Give us a desire to make a difference for You. Help us to always glorify You with our deeds. Give us sight, so we can see into eternity. Remind us that deeds we do to satisfy the flesh will never stand the test of your judgment. Help us to do things that will effect our life in Heaven. Help us to live for You. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 6: "Fools"
Proverbs 26:4, 5, 11 "Do not answer a fool according to his folly, Lest you also be like him. Answer a fool according to his folly, Lest he be wise in his own eyes. As a dog returns to his own vomit, So a fool repeats his folly."
Proverb 17:28 "Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive."
Proverb 10:14 "Wise people store up knowledge, But the mouth of the foolish is near destruction."
Proverb 14:7 "Go from the presence of a foolish man, When you do not perceive in him the lips of knowledge."
Prayer: "Thank you for warning us about fools. Remove foolishness from us and make us very wise. Thank you for giving us the book of Proverbs. Help us to read it a lot. Thank you for giving us wise teachers, preachers and Bible study leaders. Help us to respect them and take their wisdom. Thank you for all the people who have invested into our lives. Thanks for all the people who have given us wise counsel. Show us the way, Lord. Protect us from foolish counsel. Give us discernment, so we can tell what is wise and what isn't. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Day 7: "The Problems With Laziness"
Proverbs 6:6-8 "Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest."
Proverbs 19:15 "Laziness casts one into a deep sleep, And an idle person will suffer hunger."
Ecclesiastes 10:18 "Because of laziness the building decays, And through idleness of hands the house leaks."
Proverb 12:24 "The hand of the diligent will rule, But the lazy man will be put to forced labor."
Proverb 13:3 "The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich."
Proverb 15:19 "The way of the lazy man is like a hedge of thorns, But the way of the upright is a highway."
Proverb 20:4 "The lazy man will not plow because of winter; He will beg during harvest and have nothing."
Proverb 26:16 "The lazy man is wiser in his own eyes Than seven men who can answer sensibly."
Prayer: "Thank you for warning us about laziness. Help the lazy people to work more and help the workaholics to work less. Give us wisdom to have a good balance in our lives. Thank you for giving us great things to do. Help us to see them and do them. Forgive the ones who never want to do anything (especially the ones who never do anything for You). Help us to be diligent. Thank you for the examples of family members and friends who work hard. Change us and make us very hard workers. Remind us that time is short and we only have a brief amount of time to do your will. Motivate us, Lord. Remind us that You are faithful and we can do what You ask, not because we are so great, but because You are so great. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Challenge
Restore a relationship that pride has damaged or destroyed.
A Moment of Introspection
Don't just talk about doing things. Do them.
Some people are always talking about doing things: serving God, helping others, working out, playing the guitar, eating better, calling their parents, etc. People should take words seriously. Some people use them without thinking, though.
Next time you find yourself talking about a new plan, be determined to seriously consider putting it into action. Pray about it. See if it's something God wants you to do. Don't let Satan immobilize you, so you waste your ideas. Be determined to put the good ones into action!
The Bible Word of the Week
Abraham's Bosom: this is the place where Old Testament believers went when they died (now, believers go to Heaven). See Luke 16:22.
The Bible Trivia Question
How old was Adam when he died?
(Email me your answer!)
Last Week's Bible Trivia Answer
The longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119.
An Excerpt from "The Revised and Expanded Answers Book" by Ken Ham, Jonathan Sarfati and Carl Wieland
Many Physical Evidences Contradict the "Billions of Years"
Of the methods that have been used to estimate the age of the earth, 90 percent point to an age far less than the billions of years asserted by evolutionists. A few of them follow.
- Evidence for rapid formation of geological strata, as in the biblical flood. Some of the evidences are: lack of erosion between rock layers supposedly separated in age by many millions of years; lack of disturbance of rock strata by biological activity (worms, roots, etc.); lack of soil layers; polystrate fossils (which traverse several rock layers vertically - these could not have stood vertically for eons of time while they slowly got buried); thick layers of "rock" bend without fracturing, indicating that the rock was all soft when bent; and more.
- Red blood cells and hemoglobin have been found in some (unfossilized!) dinosaur bone. But these could not last more than a few thousand years -- certainly not the 65 Ma since the last dinosaurs lived, according to evolutionists.
- The earth's magnetic field has been decaying so fast that it looks like it is less than 10,000 years old. Rapid reversals during the flood year and fluctuations shortly after would have caused the field energy to drop even faster.
- Radioactive decay releases helium into the atmosphere, but not much is escaping. The total amount in the atmosphere is only 1/2000th of that expected if the atmosphere were really billions of years old. This helium originally escaped from rocks. This happens quite fast, yet so much helium is still in some rocks that it has not had time to escape -- certainly not billions of years.
- A supernova is an explosion of a massive star - the explision is so bright that it briefly outshines the rest of the galaxy. The supernova remnants (SNRs) should keep expanding for hundreds of thousands of years, according to the physical equations. Yet there are no very only, widely expanded (Stage 3) SNRs, and few moderately old (Stage 1) ones in our galaxy, the Milky Way, or in its satellite galaxies, the Magellanic Clouds. This is just what we would expect for "young" galaxies that have not existed long enough for wide expansion.
- The moon is slowly receding from earth at about 4 cm per year, and this rate would have been greater in the past. But even if the moon had started receding from being in contact with the earth, it would have taken only 1.37 billion years to reach its present distance from the earth. This gives a maximum age of the moon, not the actual age. This is far too young for evolutionists who claim the moon is 4.6 billion years old. It is also much younger than the radiometric "dates" assigned to moon rocks.
- Salt is entering the sea much faster than it is escaping. The sea is not nearly salty enough for this to have been happening for billions of years. Even granting generous assumptions to evolutionists, the sea could not be more than 62 Ma old -- far younger than the billions of years believed by evolutionists. Again, this indicates a maximum age, not the actual age.

These quotes came from God, me, the Inspirational Study Bible (with Max Lucado), Joseph Stowell, Tyrone Moore, A.W. Tozer and Miles McPhearson.
These quotes can be used for sanctification and fun. Most of them are directly based on scripture and scriptural principles. Some of my quotes are humorous or rhetorical. Some are written from sermons and Bible studies. Others are lyrics from songs. If you'd like me to go into more detail on any of them, please email me.
Like most verses in the Bible, they can be debated. To use what I've written in the most beneficial way, try and trace them back to the scriptures and apply the true principles to your life in a meaningful way! Please don't sell my quotes or publish them for profit. If English is not your first language, you may not understand some of the quotes. I'm sorry, but some of them are English metaphors and deal with multiple word meanings. God bless you all!
Please make a commitment to pray for this ministry. As every believer is tempted and tried, this ministry faces trials also. God has blessed me, JCSM and the people who have been reached! Unfortunately, the enemy knows this and spiritual warfare is the result. Please at least pray that the devotions continue to be sent religiously, the web pages stay on the www and the subscribers are blessed, sanctified and protected from evil. Thank you very much in advance!
Do you want to help people receive the good news? We have sent over 500,000 emails, encouraging people with God's Word! Please join us in the great commission. We're reaching new people every day with God's awesome Word! If God has blessed you and you wish to send a love offering to me and my ministry, please send it to the address below.
You can join our vision and help this ministry! Your donations will keep these ministries running and further our visions for evangelism. Hundreds of web pages have been created to lead people to the Lord. Frequently, we make new ones and they are used to bring more and more people into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. We're certain there will be more ways to reach people in the future.
Along with getting support, we also give support! JCSM regularly gives to churches and needy people. Another function of this ministry is to do counseling. We are always answering questions about life, the Lord and everything in between. Lastly, we do a lot of research on religious topics on the internet and library. You will definitely see the results of our hard work and your loving support, in the web pages, and in the weekly devotions!
For more about me and my service history, go to http://resume.jcsm.org. For what I do, my ministries and giving, go to http://vision.jcsm.org.
If you have received these devotions from someone other than JCSM, please email us and we will send them to you, personally, each week. Don't worry. We don't send forwards or any other junk mail. Plus, we refrain from giving your name to anyone.
The devotions are sent on Monday nights. The gospel is sent on the 11th of every month and the monthly newsletter is sent on the 20th. These are the only messages we send, however, please email me us you wish to be removed from this list. If you prefer to receive the devotions in Spanish, send us a request because the devotions have been reaching the Spanish speaking community for over a year!
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please email me! I would love to share the gospel with you. The Bible is very straightforward when it speaks about Heaven, Hell and eternal life. If there is any doubt that you are going to Heaven when you die, please let me know today!
Are you having trouble in life and need someone to talk to? You can call the youth crisis hotline at 1-800-HIT-HOME, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their motto is "help, not hassle". YDI pays for these calls and has helped over 1 million people! They are also looking for people to answer calls. Their web site is at www.1800hithome.com.
Would you like to feed starving people by simply clicking a button and paying absolutely nothing? Sponsors pay to donate food to hungry people all over the world. I click these nearly every day. It takes about 10 seconds and it donates food to needy people! Go here: www.thehungersite.com and here www.stopthehunger.com.
Go here to donate free Bibles to people: http://www.TheBibleSite.org. If you want to join an organization that helps feed and clothe poor people, check into World Vision. You can see their site here: www.worldvision.com.
JCSM now does regular mailings! If you are getting rid of your email or know someone who wants the devotions, but doesn't have email, please give us their address and we'll send them the devotions. If you don't have internet access, but want to read a certain web page or Bible lesson, let us know. We can copy and paste something into an email message for you. If you have internet access and need a great, online, study Bible, go here: www.biblestudytools.net.
Since April of 1997, the weekly devotional message has been sent on the internet. This message currently reaches over 18,000 people in 98 countries. To read a list of these countries, go here: http://www.jcsm.org/misc/countries.htm. To read the archived devotions online, go here: http://devos.jcsm.org.
