Happy 4th of July!

On Wednesday, all of us in the U.S. are celebrating Independence Day. I hope everyone has a safe and exciting day.

There are several crusades in the Southern California area! In Anaheim (Edison Stadium), there are the Harvest Crusades. These are happening from the 4th through the 7th and they'll be featuring Greg Laurie and Switchfoot, Delirious, Jennifer Knapp, Audio Adrenaline and several other awesome bands.

On the 4th, I'll be an altar call counselor at the Miles Ahead Crusade in San Diego! Please pray that many people get saved. This crusade is being held in the Coors Amphitheater and it should be incredible. Miles will be speaking and Audio Adrenaline, Out of Eden, Salvador and several other bands and activities are planned.

We had a record month of hits (visits) in June! The main web page received 1700 hits! This was an average of 57 hits a day and exceeded last month's total by 200 hits. Praise the Lord!

The Institute for Creation Research is now on the web! Sarine and I took a bunch of pictures and I scanned and uploaded them. These are also the first pictures of my wife on the web! You can see them here: http://www.jcsm.org/MISC/ICR.htm.

Are you reading a quality version of the Bible? Maybe you've never considered which version to read or not to read. Every version of the Bible is different. How can this be? God is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Nonetheless, we have many versions. If you want to unravel this mystery and see some of the awful omissions and perplexing changes in some of the versions, please visit our newest web siteThe Best Bible Versions (and the Worst), http://www.jcsm.org/biblelessons/BBV.htm.

When I was in Israel, I made a site research guide. This contains 24 places in the country of Israel. It tells of their biblical and historical significance. I've updated this page and it is much more readable. If you'd like to read about the Holy Land, simply go here: http://www.jcsm.org/Israel1997/IsraelPlaces.htm.

Speaking of the Holy Land, my wife and I are planning a trip to Israel! We're excited about this idea and beginning to work through the details. Please pray for us, so we can afford all the expenses, have direction and walk in God's will. Please also pray that there isn't any fighting or terrorism in December! If you have any information (about hotels, rental cars or anything), please email me. I've been there once, but it was with a tour.

Are you a DC Talk fan? If so, you probably already know that all the guys are releasing their solo albums. Today, Michael Tati's "Empty" album was released! His band is called "Tait" (dedicated to his father) and includes Pete Stewart and the Chapin brothers. If you'd like a $2 off coupon, please go here: http://www.forefrontrecords.com/ncom/ff/index.html. If you'd like to listen to some of his album, check it out here: http://www.HearITFIRST.com.

Have you ever read a Mormon Hymn Book? Until last week, I hadn't seen one. However, Sarine and I received one when we were investigating their church. I have dissected it and revealed the unbiblical songs they sing. If you'd like to read some of them, you can do it here: http://www.jcsm.org/WR/MHB.htm.

Cox@Home offers high speed internet connections. I've been using their cable (broadband) service for two years and it's excellent. To visit their page and see if it's in your area, please go here: www.cox.com. If you decided to get it, please let me know because I'll get a free month of service for referring a friend!

Thanks for praying for my court date. The judge ordered Mr. Lafayette to pay me at least $50 a month until his debt was paid. He owes me a little over $2000, so I guess he'll be paying me for awhile. I pray that God works in His life and he makes the payments sooner than they're required. I was thankful that I got to mention God's grace during the hearing.

Do you need to find an old friend? Switchboard.com is an excellent way to find them. In seconds, you can get phone numbers and even email addresses from long-lost friends.

When will Russia (Magog) launch it's surprise attack on Israel? We'd all like to know. If you're interested in watching these things unfold, you can read their online news (in English)http://www.europeaninternet.com/russia. Look for their ties with the Arab nations. They'll obviously have to march through an Arab country in order to get to Israel.

I've updated my list of links. Some of them were broken and outdated. For some interesting links, please go here: http://www.jcsm.org/ListofLinks.htm.

I pray that you are persevering in your spiritual growth! God will see you through. Living in the light is much better than living in darkness! Don't buy the world's lies. Keep fighting the good fight!

If you can't make the Harvest Crusade, and live near Murrietta, why don't you go and hear Big Tent Revival? They'll be there! Email me for more info.

My 40 day fast is going very well! Thanks for your prayers and encouragement. Since this is day 15, I'm over 1/3 finished! I've been keeping my word with praying, singing praises and reading God's Word for 30 minutes (each) every day. It's been a great time of closeness with God! I've been learning a lot about His Word, too.

On Saturday, Sarine and I investigated a 7th Day Adventist Church. It was quite interesting. I'll be posting my experience on the web. Next stop: The Catholic Church. I pray that these revealing web pages will be very informative and that my experiences will help me minister better to people of other religions and denominations.

On Wednesday, I heard a great message by Ray Bentley. I visited his church (Maranatha, a Calvary Chapel offshoot) and hear him and The Kry! It was a big blessing. You can see their monthly schedule here: http://www.maranathachapel.org/pages/eventsframe.html.

Thursday's prayer meeting at Dave's was way cool. A big shout goes out to all my New Venture friends! HIYA FRIENDS! You guys are awesome.

Are you receiving about twelve pages with this message? If this message is truncated, and perhaps you're only receiving half of it, you can always find these devotions on our web site! Simply go here: http://devos.jcsm.org.

Help them to find time. Thank you for helping us do your will, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 6 "Pure Thoughts"

Purify us more, Lord. Make us an image of You. Help us to leave worldliness and fleshly desires behind. Thank you for putting our feet on a Rock. Thank you for giving us an unshakable truth! Thank you for forgiving our sins! Thank you for giving us a new life and a new way of thinking. Remind us that our citizenship is in Heaven. Don't let us get attached to worldly things. Remind us that You are the only thing worth being attached to. Thank you for loving us more than we love ourselves. To You be all the glory, honor and praise, forever and ever! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Challenge

Pick one issue in your life and let God cleanse you.

A Moment of IntrospectionAre you controlling your schedule or is your schedule controlling you?

Some people are slaves to their schedule. They literally can't change it or find time for the Lord. They've filled their lives with work, hobbies, entertainment, family, etc.

Those things aren't bad. However, God should always be first. Family is very important, but God should still be first.

Everything else on the list should be done with moderation. Are you taking too much time on your hobbies and forgetting to study the Word, pray, worship God and serve Him?

An Excerpt from "The Revised and Expanded Answers Book"

by Ken Ham, Jonathan Sarfati and Carl Wieland

A Biblical View

Evidence indicates that the continents have moved apart in the past, but can today's supposed drift rates of 0.78-5.9 inches per year be extrapolated far back into the past? Is the present really the key to the past, as uniformitarians earnestly proclaim? Such extrapolation would mean that an ocean basin or mountain range would take about 100 million years to form.

The Bible does not speak directly about continental drift and plate tectonics, but if the continents were once together, as Genesis 19-10 suggests, and are now apart, how does that fit into a biblical view of geology with a time line of only thousands of years?

Dr. John Baumgardner, working at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (New Mexico), has used supercomputers to model processes in the earth's mantle to show that tectonic plate movement could have occurred very rapidly, and "spontaneously." This concept is known as catastrophic plate tectonics. At the time of writing, Baumgardner, a creation scientist, is acknowledged as having developed the world's best 3-D super-computer model of plate tectonics.

Catastrophic Plate Tectonics

The model proposed by Baumgardner begins with a pre-flood super-continent (Let the waters ... be gathered together into one place" Gen. 19) and dense ocean floor rocks. The process starts with the cold and dense ocean floor beginning to sink into the softer, less dense mantle beneath. The friction from this movement generates heat, especially around the edges, which softens the adjacent mantle material, making it less resistant to the sinking of the ocean floor. The edges sink faster, dragging the rest of the ocean floor along, in conveyor-belt fashion. Faster movement creates more friction and heat in the surrounding mantle, reducing its resistance further and so the ocean floor moves even faster, and so on. At its peak, this thermal runaway instability would have allowed for subduction at rates of meters-per-second. This key concept is called runaway subduction.

The sinking ocean floor would displace mental material, starting large-scale movement throughout the entire mantle. However, as the ocean floor sank and rapidly subducted adjacent to the pre-flood super-continent's margins, elsewhere the earth's crust would be under such tensional stress that it would be torn apart (rifted), breaking up both the pre-flood super-continent and the ocean floor.

This, crustal spreading zones would rapidly extend along cracks in the ocean floor for some 6,000 miles where the splitting was occurring. Hot mantle material displaced by the subduction slabs would well up, rising to the surface along these spreading zones. On the ocean floor, this hot mantle material would vaporize copious amounts of ocean water, producing a linear geyser of superheated stream along the whole length of the spreading centers (perhaps the "foundations of the great deep"? Gen. 711; 82). This steam would disperse, condensing in the atmosphere to all as intense global rain ("and the flood-gates of heaven were opened" Gen. 711). This could account for the rain persisting for 40 days and 40 nights (Gen. 712).

These quotes came from God, me, the Inspirational Study Bible (with Max Lucado), Tyrone Moore, Ray Bentley and Miles McPhearson.

These quotes can be used for sanctification and fun. Most of them are directly based on scripture and scriptural principles. Some of my quotes are humorous or rhetorical. Some are written from sermons and Bible studies. Others are lyrics from songs. If you'd like me to go into more detail on any of them, please email me.

Like most verses in the Bible, they can be debated. To use what I've written in the most beneficial way, try and trace them back to the scriptures and apply the true principles to your life in a meaningful way! Please don't sell my quotes or publish them for profit. If English is not your first language, you may not understand some of the quotes. I'm sorry, but some of them are English metaphors and deal with multiple word meanings. God bless you all!

Please make a commitment to pray for this ministry. As every believer is tempted and tried, this ministry faces trials also. God has blessed me, JCSM and the people who have been reached! Unfortunately, the enemy knows this and spiritual warfare is the result. Please at least pray that the devotions continue to be sent religiously, the web pages stay on the www and the subscribers are blessed, sanctified and protected from evil. Thank you very much in advance!

Do you want to help people receive the good news? We have sent over 500,000 emails, encouraging people with God's Word! Please join us in the great commission. We're reaching new people every day with God's awesome Word! If God has blessed you and you wish to send a love offering to me and my ministry, please send it here

You can join our vision and help this ministry! Your donations will keep these ministries running and further our visions for evangelism. Hundreds of web pages have been created to lead people to the Lord. Frequently, we make new ones and they are used to bring more and more people into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. We're certain there will be more ways to reach people in the future.

Along with getting support, we also give support! JCSM regularly gives to churches and needy people. Another function of this ministry is to do counseling. We are always answering questions about life, the Lord and everything in between. Lastly, we do a lot of research on religious topics on the internet and library. You will definitely see the results of our hard work and your loving support, in the web pages, and in the weekly devotions!

For more about me and my service history, go to http://resume.jcsm.org. For what I do, my ministries and giving, go to http://vision.jcsm.org.

If you have received these devotions from someone other than JCSM, please email us and we will send them to you, personally, each week. Don't worry. We don't send forwards or any other junk mail. Plus, we refrain from giving your name to anyone.

The devotions are sent on Monday nights. The gospel is sent on the 11th of every month and the monthly newsletter is sent on the 20th. These are the only messages we send, however, please email me us you wish to be removed from this list. If you prefer to receive the devotions in Spanish, send us a request because the devotions have been reaching the Spanish speaking community for over a year!

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please email me! I would love to share the gospel with you. The Bible is very straightforward when it speaks about Heaven, Hell and eternal life. If there is any doubt that you are going to Heaven when you die, please let me know today!

Are you having trouble in life and need someone to talk to? You can call the youth crisis hotline at 1-800-HIT-HOME, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their motto is "help, not hassle". YDI pays for these calls and has helped over 1 million people! They are also looking for people to answer calls. Their web site is at www.1800hithome.com.

Would you like to feed starving people by simply clicking a button and paying absolutely nothing? Sponsors pay to donate food to hungry people all over the world. I click these nearly every day. It takes about 10 seconds and it donates food to needy people! Go here www.thehungersite.com and here www.stopthehunger.com.
