Hello!

Praise the Lord! I pray that you are having a great week.

Today, Big Tent Revival is releasing a live, compilation album! It has most of their old, favorite songs. You can read about it here: http://www.ardentrecords.com/artists/btr/disco.html.

Please pray for my court appearance. Sarine and I will be testifying against the thief who stole my cds, guitars and effects pedal. I hope we get everything back. I know God's will will be done.

Lately, I've been reading an awesome book called "The Beatitudes: How To Be Happy According To Jesus," by Dr. David Jeremiah. It's a Bible study work book. Dr. J has a lot of his sermons incorporated into Bible study books. If you need information on how to order them, let me know.

Did you get a chance to take JCSM's Salvation Web Poll? If not, it will only take a couple seconds. Your response is important to us, so please go here: http://www.jcsm.org/salvation/

This devotional message celebrates four years of devotions! I'm thankful for the chance to encourage so many people with the good news. Thanks for being a part of JCSM!

Concert watch: On June 8th, Skillet is performing in Temecula. On the 8th, All Together Separate is performing in Murrieta. If you're in Southern California, you won't wanna miss those shows!

Happy birthday Tyrone! God bless you, bro!

This weekend, my college and career group at New Venture Christian Fellowship is going to the Colorado River! We will be camping, singing, skiing, hanging out and doing more fun stuff. Please pray that we have safety and a great time. This is the longest road trip for Sarine and I - 3 hours.

Our World Religions, Cults, Sects and Movements page has been greatly updated. Some of the existing cults have changed names, so all their names are listed. Many more cults, sects and movements were found, so there are links to these groups, too. You can find them here: http://www.jcsm.org/Contents/WorldReligions.htm

We are preparing to do an online Bible study! Please email me if you are interested. We will be studying a chapter of the Bible each week. We'll meet in a chat room and discuss it. Each person will have a chance to talk about the verses that impacted them. You can always come and simply watch, too. More details will be forthcoming.

In the month of May, there were 1540 hits on the main page! The average amount of hits each day was 50. It was one of the top months for hits! I'm thankful for these numbers and pray that God continues to bring people to the JCSM web pages.

Have you heard of Compassion International? Right now, they are partnering with Family Christian Stores and offering a $50 gift certificate for anyone who sponsors a child. If you are interested in helping to feed a hungry child and you want a $50 gift certificate to Family Christian Stores, go here: http://www.familychristian.com/compassion.

Watch for the following things in the near future: 1) The Jabez Prayer web page - How God began this ministry through the Jabez prayer, insight from Bruce Wilkinson's book, etc. 2) The World Religions, Cults and Movements Explored - Ever wonder what other religions and even cults were really like? In order to reach everyone, I'm attending one service from several religions, cults, sects and movements. I'll be posting my findings on the web.

In a couple days, I'll be buying a car for Sarine. Please pray that everything goes smoothly. I'm hoping we can get a great deal on a certain Honda Civic. God has already provided the money. We're also hoping the insurance will be inexpensive.

I'm feeling God calling me to do another 40 day fast. Please pray that I answer the call, do it the way He wants it and do it when He wants it. Right now, I'm planning and beginning to write my reasons and structure. I'm sure it will be another incredible experience! I'll probably begin toward the end of June.

Is it hard for you to share your faith? I'd love to encourage you and give you some ideas. If you need help, please email me.

I pray that you are persevering and thriving in your spiritual journey! God is with you! Don't worry. He will complete the work that He began in you.

* Are you receiving about twelve pages with this message? If this message is truncated, and perhaps you're only receiving half of it, you can always find these devotions on our web site! Simply go here: http://devos.jcsm.org.

This is your ministry, so please feel free to link to JCSM and forward these devotions to your friends and family. On the JCSM website, there are over 1500 links (pictures, midis, Bible lessons, humor, proverbial stories, links, devotions, poetry, prayer journals and much more!) and it has registered over 47,000 hits!

Would you like to support God's work on the web? If this ministry has touched you in a special way, please pray and consider sending a gift to JCSM. You can join us in our vision to reach people on the web with the good news! Please email me or see our address below.

Have a fantastic week and God bless you!

The Weekly Devotional Message

Day 1: "Silence Me, So I Can Hear You"

Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"

Psalm 62:1 "Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation."

Ecclesiastes 3:7b "There is....A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak;

Psalm 4:4 "Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah"

Prayer: "Thank you for speaking to us, Lord. Help us to be quiet, so we can hear your voice. Thank you for directing us in perfect, awesome ways. Thank you for wanting the best for us. There is no other God like You! Help us to discern your voice. Help us to obey You, too. Praise you for being faithful to us. Thank you for helping us get through this life in a better way than we could on our own. To You be all the glory, honor and praise! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 2: "The Fiery Judgment"

Luke 16:23 "Then he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame."

Revelation 19:20 "Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone."

Revelation 20:10 "The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."

Prayer: "Thank you for warning us about the lake of fire, Lord. Remind us that your Word is perfect and true. Thank you for being a sovereign God. Help us to love and trust You more. Thank you for saving us from the lake of fire! Thank you for putting our feet on a Rock. Forgive us for our sins, Lord. Make us like You. Help us to share the gospel with others because the lake of fire will be the eternal suffering place for unbelievers. Give us courage and grace, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 3: "Our Awesome Creator of the Universe"

Job 38:4-11 "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb; When I made the clouds its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band; When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors; When I said, This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop! Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place, That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it? It takes on form like clay under a seal, And stands out like a garment. From the wicked their light is withheld, And the upraised arm is broken. Have you entered the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in search of the depths? Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death? Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this. Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And darkness, where is its place, That you may take it to its territory, That you may know the paths to its home? Do you know it, because you were born then, Or because the number of your days is great? Have you entered the treasury of snow, Or have you seen the treasury of hail, Which I have reserved for the time of trouble, For the day of battle and war? By what way is light diffused, Or the east wind scattered over the earth? Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water, Or a path for the thunderbolt, To cause it to rain on a land where there is no one, A wilderness in which there is no man; To satisfy the desolate waste, And cause to spring forth the growth of tender grass? Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew? From whose womb comes the ice? And the frost of heaven, who gives it birth? The waters harden like stone, And the surface of the deep is frozen. Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades, Or loose the belt of Orion? Can you bring out Mazzaroth in its season? Or can you guide the Great Bear with its cubs? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you set their dominion over the earth? Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That an abundance of water may cover you? Can you send out lightnings, that they may go, And say to you, 'Here we are!'? Who has put wisdom in the mind? Or who has given understanding to the heart? Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of heaven, When the dust hardens in clumps, And the clods cling together? Can you hunt the prey for the lion, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions, When they crouch in their dens, Or lurk in their lairs to lie in wait? Who provides food for the raven, When its young ones cry to God, And wander about for lack of food?"

Prayer: "Thank you for doing incredible things, Lord. Thank you for making everything. Thank you for teaching the birds how to fly and telling the waves where to go. Thank you for creating all the creatures in the skies and in the oceans. Thank you for taking care of us. Help us to appreciate You more. Help us to see You how You really are. Forgive us for putting You in a box or assuming You can only work in certain ways. Thank you for doing incredible things that defy logic and defy our imagination! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 4: "Never Compromise"

Exodus 8:25-29 "Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Go, sacrifice to your God in the land. And Moses said, It is not right to do so, for we would be sacrificing the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God. If we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, then will they not stone us? We will go three days' journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the LORD our God as He will command us. So Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. Intercede for me. Then Moses said, Indeed I am going out from you, and I will entreat the LORD, that the swarms of flies may depart tomorrow from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. But let Pharaoh not deal deceitfully anymore in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD."

1 Kings 11:3, 4 "And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart. For it was so, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the LORD his God, as was the heart of his father David."

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people. Therefore Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty."

Prayer: "Thank you for commanding us not to compromise our beliefs. Help us to have beliefs that are grounded in your truth. Give us courage and boldness to stand for what is right. Thank you for rewarding and blessing your faithful followers. Thank you for making our lives better when we choose not to compromise. We love You, Lord. Give us great strength, even when we are weary. Lift us up and help us to see You! Give us more strength than we could humanly have. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 5: "Be Discerning"

Matthew 7:3-5 "Why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

Ephesians 6:10-20 "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak."

Philippians 1:9-11 "And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ."

Hebrews 5:12-14 "For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

James 1:5 "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

Prayer: "Thank you for giving us discernment. Help us to know the truth, so we can reveal the lies. Thank you for giving us the truth in your Word. Thank you for the ways your Spirit speaks to us. Help us to use spiritual discernment all the time. Show us how You see things. Thank you for making this world an interesting place. Help us to take the fruitful things and leave the worthless things. Thank you for giving us a free will. Give us direction. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 6: "Persist and Persevere"

Matthew 24:12, 13 "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved."

Mark 13:12, 13 "Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved."

Romans 5:3, 4 "And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."

1 Timothy 6:11, 12 "But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses."

James 1:2-4 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."

Prayer: "Thank you for wanting us to persevere, Lord. Help us to keep walking down the straight and narrow path. Thank you for never letting us be tempted more than we can bear. Praise You for always being with us in our trials. Remind us that You are here. Thank you for being seen when we look for You. Thank you for never hiding from us and never hating us. Give us your strength, Lord. Remind us that trials don't last forever. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Day 7: "God's Word Is Awesome"

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Psalm 33:4-6 "For the word of the LORD is right, and all His work is done in truth. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth."

Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."

Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. "

Prayer: "Thank you for giving us your Word! There is no other Word like your Word. Help us to love it, learn it and apply it to our lives. Thank you for writing the Bible and having it be perfectly applicable, for all people, for over 2,000 years! Help us to understand how You are a perfect God that doesn't change. Thank you for being our perfect example. Help us to use your Word to win spiritual battles and make our lives better by obeying You. To You be all the glory, honor and praise, forever and ever! In Jesus' name, Amen."

Never A Single Contact with An "Extraterrestrial"

In 1900, the French Academy of Science offered a prize of 100,000 francs for the first person to make contact with an alien civilization - so long as the alien was not from Mars, because the academy was convinced that Martian civilization was an established fact!

Since then, not a trace of "little green men," or indeed any life, has been found on any of the planets that our probes have explored, including Mars.

Despite this, a great number of astronomers think that, since life supposedly evolved here on earth, it must have evolved near one of the many stars out there. Around the world SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) researchers have scanned the sky, looking in vain for signals from intelligent beings. Despite all the listening, on thousands of frequencies over many years, nothing indicating intelligent alien life has ever been heard.

These quotes came from God, me, the Inspirational Study Bible (with Max Lucado), Dr. David Jeremiah, Kent Hildebrand, Billy Graham, Chuck Swindoll and Miles McPhearson.

These quotes can be used for sanctification and fun. Most of them are directly based on scripture and scriptural principles. Some of my quotes are humorous or rhetorical. Some are written from sermons and Bible studies. Others are lyrics from songs. If you'd like me to go into more detail on any of them, please email me.

Like most verses in the Bible, they can be debated. To use what I've written in the most beneficial way, try and trace them back to the scriptures and apply the true principles to your life in a meaningful way! Please don't sell my quotes or publish them for profit. If English is not your first language, you may not understand some of the quotes. I'm sorry, but some of them are English metaphors and deal with multiple word meanings. God bless you all!

Please make a commitment to pray for this ministry. As every believer is tempted and tried, this ministry faces trials also. God has blessed me, JCSM and the people who have been reached! Unfortunately, the enemy knows this and spiritual warfare is the result. Please at least pray that the devotions continue to be sent religiously, the web pages stay on the www and the subscribers are blessed, sanctified and protected from evil. Thank you very much in advance!

Do you want to help people receive the good news? We have sent over 500,000 emails, encouraging people with God's Word! Please join us in the great commission. We're reaching new people every day with God's awesome Word! If God has blessed you and you wish to send a love offering to me and my ministry, please send it to the address below.

You can join our vision and help this ministry! Your donations will keep these ministries running and further our visions for evangelism. Hundreds of web pages have been created to lead people to the Lord. Frequently, we make new ones and they are used to bring more and more people into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. We're certain there will be more ways to reach people in the future.

Along with getting support, we also give support! JCSM regularly gives to churches and needy people. Another function of this ministry is to do counseling. We are always answering questions about life, the Lord and everything in between. Lastly, we do a lot of research on religious topics on the internet and library. You will definitely see the results of our hard work and your loving support, in the web pages, and in the weekly devotions!

For more about me and my service history, go to http://resume.jcsm.org. For what I do, my ministries and giving, go to http://vision.jcsm.org.

If you have received these devotions from someone other than JCSM, please email us and we will send them to you, personally, each week. Don't worry. We don't send forwards or any other junk mail. Plus, we refrain from giving your name to anyone.

The devotions are sent on Monday nights. The gospel is sent on the 11th of every month and the monthly newsletter is sent on the 20th. These are the only messages we send, however, please email me us you wish to be removed from this list. If you prefer to receive the devotions in Spanish, send us a request because the devotions have been reaching the Spanish speaking community for over a year!

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please email me! I would love to share the gospel with you. The Bible is very straightforward when it speaks about Heaven, Hell and eternal life. If there is any doubt that you are going to Heaven when you die, please let me know today!

Are you having trouble in life and need someone to talk to? You can call the youth crisis hotline at 1-800-HIT-HOME, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their motto is "help, not hassle". YDI pays for these calls and has helped over 1 million people! They are also looking for people to answer calls. Their web site is at www.1800hithome.com.

Would you like to feed starving people by simply clicking a button and paying absolutely nothing? Sponsors pay to donate food to hungry people all over the world. I click these nearly every day. It takes about 10 seconds and it donates food to needy people! Go here: www.thehungersite.com and here www.stopthehunger.com.

Go here to donate free Bibles to people: http://www.TheBibleSite.org. If you want to join an organization that helps feed and clothe poor people, check into World Vision. You can see their site here: www.worldvision.com.

JCSM now does regular mailings! If you are getting rid of your email or know someone who wants the devotions, but doesn't have email, please give us their address and we'll send them the devotions. If you don't have internet access, but want to read a certain web page or Bible lesson, let us know. We can copy and paste something into an email message for you. If you have internet access and need a great, online, study Bible, go here: www.biblestudytools.net.
